With 13 years of experience as a marriage and family therapist, I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families create lasting, positive change in their relationships. I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method to offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach tailored to each client's unique needs. My work with clients emphasizes building emotional resilience, improving communication, and fostering deep connections. Whether guiding couples through relationship challenges or supporting individuals in emotional growth, I am passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and develop the tools they need for meaningful, fulfilling relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will spend sometime getting to know each other and identify the obstacles that you may be experiencing. This type of assessment helps us collaborate to create our path forward in treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With 13 years of therapy experience and my own life journey, my greatest strength as a provider is my creativity in finding effective solutions to overcome obstacles.

My treatment methods

Gottman method

The Gottman Method is a structured, research-based approach to couples counseling designed to improve relationship dynamics and foster stronger, healthier connections. It emphasizes building trust, enhancing communication, and managing conflict constructively. Core techniques include fostering love maps (an understanding of each partner’s inner world), nurturing fondness and admiration, and promoting “turning towards” behaviors, which encourage couples to respond to each other's bids for attention and connection. Conflict resolution techniques are also central, focusing on productive communication and avoiding negative patterns, such as criticism and defensiveness, to deepen emotional intimacy and relational resilience.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach in individual counseling that helps clients manage intense emotions and improve interpersonal effectiveness. Originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder, it is now widely used to treat a range of emotional and behavioral issues. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral strategies with mindfulness practices to build skills in four key areas: emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Clients learn to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, accept difficult emotions without judgment, and develop healthier ways to interact in relationships, ultimately fostering resilience and a greater sense of control over their emotional lives.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in individual counseling is an attachment-based approach aimed at helping clients understand and process their emotions, often rooted in unmet attachment needs. EFT encourages clients to identify, explore, and express their core emotions in a safe, supportive setting. Through this process, clients gain insight into how these emotions influence their thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. By addressing and transforming negative emotional patterns, EFT helps individuals build a stronger sense of self-compassion, improve emotional regulation, and create more fulfilling, authentic connections with themselves and others.
