Hi! My name is Crystal Villanueva and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have 11 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, couples, and children experiencing the challenges of anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, relationship challenges, and intimate partner violence.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the spirit of Humanistic therapy. Humanistic Therapy is based on the core belief that people are good at heart and capable of making the right choices for themselves. In therapy, this belief leads me to focus on each individual’s unique point of view and how this view can impact their choices. It further emphasizes the importance of being our authentic selves to live the most fulfilling life. I strive to create a safe environment to help clients feel comfortable to express their thoughts/emotions. I am genuine, friendly, nonjudgmental, empathetic, and interactive. I believe I am easy to talk to as I am casual in my style, but direct and focused when it comes to our work together.
My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own therapy that I received as a youth and young adult; it was life-changing. I worked with a therapist that was completely accepting and non-judgmental of my faults/shortcomings and helped me work past and accept them. Because of this experience, I wanted to give back and provide the same nonjudgment safe space, and acceptance to others.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe healing happens through connection, compassion, and understanding. I partner with clients to explore patterns, build coping skills, and develop greater self-awareness in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. My work is informed by trauma-informed care and a holistic perspective that honors each client’s lived experience. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with their values.
Hi, I’m Cassandra! I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. Hi! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Counseling Psychology with a specialty in somatic, or body-oriented, psychology. I also have a Master's in Creative Writing, and lived as a lay monk in a Zen monastery in Japan. I help motivated young and middle-aged adults who tend to live "in their heads" become more composed, resilient, and effective in living according to their values. This is a problem common to folks with relationship challenges, PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, and mood disorders.

I am not taking Couples, but I am taking individuals that are or are not in a relationship and need help. We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers.
Sometimes our own mental health can influence all of our relationships, and you may need coping techniques for anxiety and or depression type symptoms. I will work with you individually to help you gain insight to your own behavior that may be influencing your relationship.
I am here to help beit coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others.
My name is Erika Ragland, LCSW and I have been working in mental health for 15 years. I grew up in a Military family and lived all over the world. The world is an incredibly beautiful and complex place full of wisdom and possibility. Life looks different for everyone, and no one's challenges are the same, but everyone can benefit from objective, honest communication and clinical expertise.
Growing up I was challenged with depression and anxiety along with familial dysfunction. When I heard about psychology in sixth grade, I decided I wanted to be a psychologist. After starting a family and enduring an abusive marriage I went back to school to become a mental health therapist. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and challenging others to open their minds to a different way of thinking. Working with individuals as well as parents and couples is rewarding and fostering change for healthier relationships is truly beautiful.

Hi I am Alex! As a bilingual (Spanish and English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my priority is to support individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes. My approach centers on understanding the unique experiences of young adults, immigrants, and multicultural communities. I offer compassionate guidance for challenges like anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, and interpersonal communication. Drawing from evidence-based practices, I help clients explore themes of self-love, purpose, and healing from past experiences. My name is Christopher, and I believe life can be better than what we have adapted to and gotten used to. Over the years I first began working with the indigent population and there I learned about the connections between substance abuse, mental illness and trauma. I then worked more with addiction when I worked with people struggling to stop substance abuse and once again, I recognized a connection between these behaviors and trauma. Finally, before completing the last stages of earning hours for my license I worked with children and families and noticed the way personal trauma experienced by adults effected parenting and family relationships. Helping people address anxiety and depression symptoms independent of a trauma made improved my abilities who help people that deal with those symptoms along with other trauma indicators.
*Please note I can see Tahoe/Truckee clients in person in my Truckee office location.

Hello! I’m Danielle. I am from Massachusetts where I completed my undergraduate (Criminal Justice & Psychology) and graduate (social work) studies. During undergrad, I volunteered with a program that help inmates with serious mental health disorder re-enter to the community. I was told the most efficient way to engage in that type of work was to go to a MSW program, so I did. During my graduate program, I heavily explored crisis intervention/assessments. Since then I have worked at a variety of places, including therapy, case management, prisons, and emergency response.
As someone who has been in and out of therapy since I was young, I never wanted to be administering therapy. I thought being a therapist would be boring and I didn’t really understand it. However, as I’ve explored what therapy should be- treating someone using an evidenced-based practice- I enjoy administering mental health treatment, using a scientific approach.
My goal is to help you gain relief from symptoms, maintain or enhance daily functioning, and improve quality of life. Ultimately, I want you to gain a sense of independence and confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges, using the tools and insights you’ve developed in therapy.
I have seventeen years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist in both agency and private practice settings. I am known for my warm, creative, and client-centered approach and work intentionally to create safe, nurturing environments where clients feel seen, supported and empowered. I have experience in a variety of treatment modalities and will collaborate with you to identify and implement the approach that works best for you.

Hello!
My name is Brooke and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I am a strengths-based, client centered, and solutions focused therapist. I strive to create an environment that you feel supported, safe, and free of judgment.
I work with individuals and couples of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, depression, peer/interpersonal relationship conflicts, bullying, life transitions, low self-esteem, burnout, insomnia, anger, panic attacks, and stress management. My approach is to integrate evidence-based practice and theory while honoring your individual needs and meeting you where you are at.
My goal is to provide you with the tools to enhance your quality of life and feel more confident with navigating life's presenting challenges. My promise as a therapist is to be with you every step of the way.
I look forward to meeting you!
I’m a Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) who offers a warm, grounded space to slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and create meaningful change. My style is relational and attachment-informed—meaning we pay attention to patterns that show up in relationships, and how earlier experiences may shape the way you cope, connect, or protect yourself today. I’m also strengths-based and practical: we’ll build on what’s already working while using CBT tools to reduce overwhelm, challenge unhelpful thought loops, and practice skills that support steadier mood, boundaries, and healthier relationships.
The impact my clients often experience is feeling more emotionally stable and confident in themselves, with a clearer understanding of their triggers and patterns. Over time, many people report improved self-compassion, stronger communication, more secure attachment in relationships, and an increased ability to tolerate difficult emotions without shutting down or spiraling. My goal is for you to leave therapy with both deeper insight and real-life tools so you can feel more connected, empowered, and able to live with authenticity and intention.
First and foremost, I am a father of two. I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology and have worked in government setting as a supervisor to many social workers over the past 28 years. I have been licensed as a therapist in California since 2004 and have worked with 100s of individuals, couples and teens since then. I have had over 200 hours of post PHD training in the areas of anxiety, depression, child abuse and neglect, bipolar disorder, couples counseling, divorce, child custody and phobia.
All things are interconnected. To feel better, you have to act better. To feel better, you have to think better. To think better, you have to feel better. To act better, you have to think better. To think, feel, and act better, you have to care for your physical health. To care for your physical health, you have to think, feel, and act better. Each has a corresponding effect on the other. However, the aspect of ourselves that we have the most direct control of is what we do, our acting. While we can influence other people, we cannot control other people. A great source of conflict and unhappiness results from our efforts to control others. If you want better relationships, the only thing we can control is what we do, how we choose to relate. We are responsible for what we do. Others are responsible for what they do. Accepting this fundamental reality and thinking, feeling, and acting in accordance with it is how we increase our experience of power, freedom, belonging, meaning and, very importantly, fun.
My professional experience includes over 30 years of post-Master’s clinical work, including leadership experience in foster care, chemical abuse and addiction, inpatient and outpatient mental health services, and crisis intervention, de-escalation, and hospitalization. I am experienced in working with ages three through the elderly. I have worked extensively with youth and families, diverse populations and life issues, providing services in various settings, including family homes, schools, juvenile detention facilities, jails, outpatient clinics, and inpatient psychiatric facilities.
Welcome, I'm glad you are here today. I'm first generation Mexican American of immigrant parents and I bring professional sensitivity to immigration issue. I'm licensed clinical social worker offering therapy in both English and Spanish. I graduated with a master's degree in social worker from California State University, Long Beach. I've been a clinical social worker for the past 8 years and trained in cognitive behavioral therapy. I started my career in mental health community clinic working with adults of severe mental health disorder. I have worked with underserved community, including students, parents, immigrant families, and incarcerated population. I am most comfortable working with mild to moderate client experiencing depression and anxiety.
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted from trying to keep it all together? You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Volzer, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience in mental health and 12 years helping individuals, couples, and families create lasting change through evidence-based therapy.
