About me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, strengthen their relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, compassion, and curiosity, where clients can feel safe exploring their experiences without judgment. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, providing support for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and difficulties with emotional regulation. My approach is warm, individualized, and informed by evidence-based practices while recognizing that each person’s journey is unique. I strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Together, we can explore patterns, build on your strengths, and work toward greater self-awareness, healing, and personal growth.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and collaborative environment where we begin building a therapeutic relationship and understanding what brings them to therapy. We will explore your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals to develop a clearer understanding of what you hope to achieve through therapy. My goal is for clients to feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves. Together, we will identify areas of focus and begin creating a plan that aligns with your needs and values. Depending on your goals, we may begin exploring patterns, developing coping strategies, and identifying tools to support emotional well-being and personal growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to provide support, guidance, and tools to help them work toward their goals. I utilize evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I integrate these modalities to help clients develop effective coping strategies, increase emotional awareness, strengthen problem-solving skills, and create meaningful change. I strive to balance validation and support with gentle encouragement toward growth. Through curiosity and collaboration, I help clients explore challenges, recognize their strengths, and build skills that support long-term well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to navigate life’s challenges. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, or difficulty managing intense emotions. Some are motivated for change but don’t know where to begin, while others simply need a safe space where they can feel heard, understood, and supported. I believe that no one should have to face life’s challenges alone. Sometimes the most important first step is having someone to talk to—someone who will listen without judgment and help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with curiosity and compassion. From there, we can work together to build insight, develop practical coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and increase confidence in navigating life’s uncertainties. My goal is to help clients stop living from a place of fear and begin engaging more fully in the lives they want to create. Using evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care, I strive to help clients build a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and worth living while fostering lasting growth and emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, evidence-based approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge beliefs that may be keeping them stuck, and develop healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges. Together, we explore how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors while building practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, and other difficulties. My goal is to help clients gain insight, develop confidence in their ability to navigate challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change that extends beyond the therapy room.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps clients build skills to manage intense emotions, navigate difficult situations, improve relationships, and create a greater sense of balance in their lives. In my practice, I use DBT principles to help clients develop awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while learning practical tools to respond to challenges in healthier ways. Together, we focus on skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I help clients learn to accept their experiences while also working toward meaningful change. My goal is to support clients in feeling more confident, resilient, and capable of handling life’s challenges while building a life that feels fulfilling and worth living.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based approach that helps clients develop greater psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions while taking meaningful action toward the life they want to create. In my practice, I help clients explore their values, increase self-awareness, and build a healthier relationship with their thoughts and feelings rather than feeling controlled by them. Together, we work on developing mindfulness, practicing acceptance, and identifying actions that align with what truly matters to each client. ACT can help clients move away from avoiding uncomfortable experiences and toward living with greater intention, confidence, and authenticity. My goal is to support clients in creating a meaningful life while building the skills to navigate challenges with greater resilience and self-compassion.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy is an approach that helps clients gain insight into how past experiences, relationships, and patterns of thinking influence their current emotions, behaviors, and relationships. In my practice, I help clients explore their inner world with curiosity and compassion, including the underlying thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be contributing to current challenges. Through our work together, we can identify recurring patterns, increase self-awareness, and develop a deeper understanding of oneself. This insight can help clients make more intentional choices, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. I provide a supportive and collaborative space where clients can feel understood, process their experiences, and develop a stronger connection with themselves.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, client-centered approach that helps individuals explore their own motivation for change and build confidence in their ability to take meaningful steps forward. In my practice, I use MI to meet clients where they are, recognizing that change is a process that happens over time. I incorporate the Stages of Change model to better understand each client’s readiness for change and tailor therapy to support them at their current stage, whether they are considering change, preparing to take action, or working to maintain progress. Together, we explore personal values, goals, strengths, and barriers while creating a compassionate space for clients to reflect on what they want for their lives. Rather than focusing on pressure or judgment, MI helps clients identify their own reasons for change and develop the confidence to move toward their goals. My goal is to empower clients to build insight, increase motivation, and create lasting changes that align with the life they want to live.
