I utilize a positive theoretical orientation which assumes that all individuals possess an innate desire for well-balanced emotional/mental health. I believe a person enters therapy with a strong wish, whether conscious or unconscious, to overcome obstacles and free themselves from constraints that are holding them back. I find that everyone needs a slightly different approach to accomplish these goals, so I adjust in technique for each specific challenge. I truly enjoy the experience of guiding my clients through this process and consider it a privilege to play such an important role in a person's life. “Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive.” ― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

Meeting life’s difficulties alone can be overwhelming. Together lets discover the beauty and purpose of our inner struggles. By doing so as a team we can share the burden of past failures and shed the pain that paves the way for our future successes. Obstacles in our path are only there to make us stronger. Life’s distressing moments are only that a moment. Our job is not to always avoid these events but to endure them and not make them worst.

I have been in the field for twenty six years and have learned to adjust to what the client is presenting in the session to achieve a sense of safety. I work with what the client is presenting and focus on how to guide the client to work through their presenting problem. I have had a history of working with a variety of clients and cultures. I started working in a therapeutic community with at risk adolescents. I later worked with court referred gang members. From there I worked with the homeless and the LGBTQ Community on addictions. I opened a private practice in a more suburban environment.

Greetings, Life can be confusing, relationships can be stressful, and the present can make you feel anxious or depressed. Sometimes a painful past can surface into the moment, especially when situations are difficult or when you are experiencing major change. During these periods your mood and thoughts can be affected in negative ways. When you are feeling alone, disconnected, or confused, talking things through can make all the difference. I work with anyone struggling to find joy, peace, and fulfillment. I offer a safe, inviting space for you to share thoughts and feelings, to vent, to feel heard, and to reorient to meaning. Please allow me to assist you finding relief and clarity. I will meet you where you are at and welcome you. I address healing on multiple levels of the body-mind connection with a focus on the notion that caring about something or someone along with experiencing meaning can counterbalance the effects of hurt, a disturbing past, or a present stressful situation or transition. I have more than 20 years of experience helping clients navigate major change and transition, gain closure, and create new beginnings. I apply interventions from a mind-body-being perspective and assess current life stressors to distinguish between situational mood and thought disturbances from those enduring and a consequence of previous hurt or trauma.

Hi, I’m Steven. Have you been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like life has become harder to manage? Maybe you’re struggling with relationships, work, stress, or finding the motivation and balance you once had. Perhaps you’ve been so focused on getting through each day that you haven’t had much time to be kind to yourself. I help individuals navigate difficult emotions, life transitions, and unexpected challenges by creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we will explore what may be holding you back, identify patterns that are no longer serving you, and build on the strengths you already have. Using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while tailoring our work to your unique needs, we will work together to develop practical tools for managing challenges and creating meaningful change. My goal is to help you reconnect with your confidence, resilience, and the healthier, more balanced version of yourself. You don’t have to face these challenges alone. We are more than conquerors! You already have the capability to make changes that help accomplish your goals, experience healing, and combat the most difficult symptoms. However, we were never meant to go it alone. The therapeutic relationship is a partnership—it is teamwork. It is joining forces with one another. One of the greatest attributes I can offer in this alliance is empathy. Non-judgmental exploration will afford the understanding necessary to determine what is hindering satisfaction. I am Kimberly Jones: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have over 10 years of experience in offering psychotherapy to all ages. My expertise is couple’s therapy encompassing marriage and relationships. You will be provided a safe space to bring your most complex matters as I am confident in supporting honest dialogue. In addition, mediation during difficult discussions and understanding the anatomy of an affair's impact on both partners can also be provided. I would assist in managing the threat of divorce, post-separation, and co-parenting. In the healing pursuit, individuals will experience neutrality, intimacy repair, trust building, improved communication, and conflict resolution. These are all skills necessary to strengthen the relationship and introduce a new way of seeing life together.

Hi there! This human experience is quite the journey, isn’t it? The fact that you are struggling does NOT make you weak, it means you are human! Nobody was given a manual for how to live life and we all have our own challenges. Perhaps you feel alone, lost, not good enough, angry, depressed, anxious, or all the above. Perhaps you feel stuck in the past or like you can’t get out of your own way. Whatever you’re struggling with, we can use these challenges to learn from and grow into who we truly are. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I work with adults who may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in familiar patterns, or simply tired of carrying everything on their own. I maintained a private practice in Ventura, CA for about 35 years as a marriage and family therapist and i worked with children, teenagers, adults and couples. About 8 years ago my wife and i moved to Oakland, Ca to be closer to our adult children and our two granddaughters. For the past five years i have volunteered at City Team, Oakland which is a residential placement for men with anger and addiction problems, I wrote the book that i am using to teach the men at City Team and i have self published six other books on parenting, marriage and personal issues; a couple of titles are "Dragon Slaying for Parents (and Couples)" , "The Lost Aspect of Love (sympathy)", "Winning at a Losing Game" and "The First Pictorial Self-Help Book for Men Who Do Not Read". I have conducted hundreds of seminars on parenting, marriage and personal issues. I obtained a masters degree in Petroleum Engineering at UC Berkeley, and worked for Shell Company for five years; not wanting my epitaph to read that i made 10 billion dollars for an oil company and returned to school to obtain a Masters Degree in Counseling. I was a School Psychologist for a school district for five years then opened up my private practice. This experience has proven to be very valuable in counseling with adults,

I’m a warm, authentic and persistent 51-year-old who loves this work. Clients often feel like they’re having an insightful, heartfelt conversation rather than a formal therapy session. I create a space of deep listening and acceptance where you can explore your inner world safely and honestly. By helping you understand and care for the parts of yourself that carry pain or conflict, we ease anxiety and depression and open the door to greater balance and emotional freedom. I speak with an accent—just something to keep in mind.
