Roberto Perez
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 16 years of experience supporting adults through anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, and everyday challenges. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change without judgment. Offering therapy in both English and Spanish, I bring a warm, practical, and collaborative approach focused on helping you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.
First session
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if it’s your first time. Our first session will be a comfortable conversation where I’ll take time to learn about you, what’s been going on, and what you would like to change or improve. We’ll begin identifying your goals and discussing how therapy can support you in reaching them. Most importantly, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can be yourself, ask questions, and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to connect with people in a genuine, approachable, and nonjudgmental way. I balance listening and support with practical guidance, helping clients gain insight while developing tools they can use in everyday life. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, honest, and focused on what matters most to you. I also bring cultural awareness and respect for each client’s background, values, and life experiences, creating a space where you can feel understood while working toward meaningful change.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is an adult or couple who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, or a difficult life transition and is ready for something to change. You don’t need to have everything figured out—you simply need to be open to the process. I enjoy working with clients who want to better understand themselves, improve communication, strengthen their relationships, and develop practical ways to manage life’s challenges. Whether you’re feeling stuck or simply know that life could feel better, we can work together toward meaningful and realistic change.
Origin story
I became a therapist because I’ve always been interested in people—their stories, relationships, challenges, and what helps them move forward. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families from many different backgrounds, and those experiences have reinforced my belief that everyone deserves a space where they can feel heard and understood. What continues to inspire me is seeing people recognize their own strengths, gain confidence, and make changes that improve both their lives and their relationships.
Ongoing work together
Our work together will be collaborative, practical, and guided by the goals that matter most to you. As we move forward, we’ll explore patterns that may be contributing to current challenges, develop strategies you can use outside of therapy, and regularly check in on what’s working and what may need to change. Progress may look like feeling less overwhelmed, communicating more effectively, managing emotions with greater confidence, setting healthier boundaries, or noticing that situations that once felt difficult are becoming easier to navigate. Therapy is not about perfection—it’s about creating meaningful changes that you can recognize in your everyday life.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns that may contribute to anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck and work toward developing healthier ways of thinking and responding. I incorporate practical strategies that clients can use outside of sessions to manage challenges, improve coping, and create meaningful changes in everyday life.
