Hello! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have been practicing in an outpatient setting for the past 17 years. I help adults overcome barriers to healing and growth. I have been assisting clients through times of stress, crisis, and transitions. I get to know my clients as individuals and fully engage them in their treatment planning. I speak Armenian fluently and can conduct therapy sessions in Armenian when needed.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into specific issues you are needing guidance with. We will conjointly create an individually tailored and realistic treatment plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel honored and privileged to be in the profession of helping people. I genuinely believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of healing and growth. I believe in providing loving feedback instead of just listening and reflecting. I utilize humor in my sessions and feel comfortable with clinically appropriate self-disclosure.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been providing individual and group therapy, full-time, in an outpatient setting since 2006. I mainly utilize the CBT model with clients I work with. My clients have reported much success with this specific model of treatment.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use many techniques of Person-centered therapy in my work with clients, including but not limited to: active listening, validation of feelings, reflection, clarification, clear boundaries, and encouragement. A client directed approach helps clients engage at their own pace and decreases likelihood of resistance.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I combine Mindfulness-Based Therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to provide my clients tools they can use on a daily basis. Teaching clients mindfulness practices is necessary to maintain progress made with symptom reduction.
