Hello, my name is Carol Metcalf-Roth, LMFT, and I have been working with clients for 21 years as a Licensed Marriage Therapist. My career history includes progressive experience as a Therapist, Director of Social Services, and Clinical Supervisor, working in agency services, hospitals and private practice. I am also a licensed Military Family Life Counselor.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I explain how therapy works, make sure my client understands confidentiality of our conversations. I tell the client a bit about myself, my practice and how I approach our therapy. I ask the client to explain the reasons for seeking help. n

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize the following tools : . Identifying specific issues in your daily life. . help the client become aware of unproductive thought patterns and recognize how they can impact their life. . Identifying negative thinking and replacing it with positive thought patterns. . Introduce new learning behaviors and how to put them into practice.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience with families covers a wide spectrum of family systems. I have worked with at-risk youth and family systems and helped them achieve their goals for self-sufficiency through a diverse group of programs and community partnerships. My experience with single clients has been successful with clients who were depressed and anxious for years before they worked with me on a plan to recognize what thoughts were creating this pattern.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Families experiencing interpersonal difficulties. Military and veterans dealing with PTSD and anxiety. Children age of 13 and above. Work related stress. Please note that I am not providing workplace disability assessments.
