New to Grow
Hi there! I have been practicing therapy for thirteen years and still find so much joy in learning each persons unique story. Just a little about me: I graduated from University of the Pacific in 2011 with my BA in Psychology and Cal State Northridge with my MS in Counseling in 2013. I saw my first client in 2012 and have worked in a variety of settings since then: on site elementary and middle schools, private practice, EAP, intensive outpatient programs, and residential treatment.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Most first sessions involve a lot of information gathering. This gives me time to better understand your history and current hopes and needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Working in residential care taught me how to work both quickly and efficiently. Therapy is not intended to require years of treatment. My hopes are to help you set realistic, achievable goals and to level set expectations you may have about yourself or your life so that you can live more freely and peacefully.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My specialties are working with anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, trauma, and life transitions.
Strength-Based
Helping identify and build upon strengths that already exist is a great place to start.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution focused therapy can help tie historical issues into perspective by focusing on how you are being impacted today and coming up with reasonable action plans to feel better.
Narrative
The way we speak to ourselves and tell the story of our life has a huge impact on how we feel! (Kinda CBT oriented, but also narrative)
