Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I'm a short-term, solution-oriented therapist that focuses on identifying and relieving on mild-to-moderate mental health symptoms, likely related to newer onset life stressors: family and relationship issues, school and work, grief and loss, medical diagnoses, etc. Though I would love to serve all that are seeking mental health therapy, it's important that I remain within my scope of competence and scope of practice. Therefore, I'm ethically unable to accept clients seeking long-term/maintenance care or specialized interventions (e.g., trauma, OCD, etc.). My approach to therapy tends to resonate best with clients who are moderately motivated to truly seek out solutions to their issues and symptoms, and are willing to do the work- both in session, and out- to achieve the results desired. We collaborate to identify the issues, and put in the actual work to make change for resolution. Though I am a clinician that utilizes evidence-based practices and interventions, I would definitely say I'm also a bit of a life coach!

I suffer from PTSD and my journey into therapy began with years of denial. As all heroes do I refused the call. Then I started helping others - the immigrant, the unhoused, the addicted - and I saw the beauty of human resilience. I discovered the capacity for compassion, healing, and evolution in others as well as myself. I fully believe therapy has the power to not only help people survive but to thrive.

Love and work are essential to a meaningful life. Relationships with others define experience and work gives a sense of purpose. Disturbance in these affect well being and contribute to an overwhelmed response leading to collapse. As trauma is relational so is recovery and healing. Having the right therapeutic alliance is a key element and requires, attunement and constistency.  James has over 20 years of clinical experience treating diverse individuals in a variety of settings. I enjoy working with young adults and professionals who are motivated to engage in therapy to work through life's unexpected obstacles and struggles that can impact our emotional and psychological health. I hope to create a safe therapeutic space built on honesty, trust and collaboration, resulting in meaningful insights and understanding of oneself. There is nothing more important than finding a good fit with your therapist as I believe this is fundamental in building rapport and creating a collaborative therapeutic relationship. I approach the first appointment as an opportunity to get to know your needs, goals for therapy and to assess the potential of working together. I work best with individuals who are motivated to engage in therapy with a positive mind and hopeful outlook. I received my Ph.D from Columbia University and completed my clinical training at Stanford University. * At this time, I do not treat any self-harming behaviors or thoughts, active substance use or history of psychiatric hospitalization.

Hi there, I primarily work in substance use recovery (abstinence and harm reduction) and trauma recovery. I also have specialized training in treating anxiety, depression, and sleep issues/insomnia. My treatment orientation is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts, however the foundation of my early training was Psychodynamic. I have been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, STAIR (Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation), and Seeking Safety for trauma treatment. When treating anxiety, I take a CBT, or exposure approach with skill-building. For depression I utilize CBT concepts, or behavioral activation with skill-building. For sleep issues, I work with the CBT for insomnia treatment model. These are just a few examples of treatment approaches I utilize. I am relational focused, which to me means finding a plan that works best for you, practicing cultural humility and not trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. I look forward to working with you.

Do you struggle with people-pleasing, anxiety, depression, internalized and/or externalized anger, or managing emotions in general in a healthy manner? Did you experience childhood trauma and feel like you grew up too fast? Were you labeled "different," "the "caretaker," "black sheep," or "troublemaker"? I teach people how to prioritize and honor all parts of themselves, not just the "desirable" ones. We will work through parts people generally dismiss and ignore such as anger, resentment, shame, and disgust, and learn how to embrace them gracefully. I'll teach you the skills to feel more at peace. As your therapist, I will be challenging and direct, yet empathetic and compassionate. I will challenge you through introspective questioning that will lead you to your own answers. I help you take what you've learned and apply it to your own life by giving you things to think about and work on between sessions, along with resources and handouts to remember. I hope you'll witness yourself feeling more empowered, confident, and more at peace with yourself as my other clients have. You will notice your relationships evolve and change, which can be scary! Rest assured, you will be provided with skills to gracefully go through them. Everything you seek is already inside you. All I’m doing is helping you remember.

Hello and welcome, I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) with a practice rooted in curiosity, compassion, and deep respect for the human experience. My work is guided by the belief that healing emerges when we feel truly seen, heard, and held—an approach that honors both the conscious and unconscious dimensions of your inner life. I offer a holistic, integrative approach that engages mind, body, and spirit. I am certified in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy, including ketamine-assisted sessions (KAP), and provide both preparation and integration support to help these experiences become a source of profound insight and growth. My practice moves beyond traditional talk therapy. I see storytelling not just as expression, but as a doorway to transformation. Through connecting with the body and attending to the felt sense of experience, clients can shift entrenched patterns, reclaim fragmented parts of themselves, and cultivate lasting change. By exploring both the personal and archetypal dimensions of your inner world, we work to cultivate resilience, confidence, and a deeper sense of trust in yourself and in life’s unfolding. Healing is not simply intellectual—it is a process of reconnecting with the wholeness of who you are, integrating the wounded, the wise, and the curious parts of yourself to step more fully into your life.

Hi, my name is Ron Cummings. I decided to become a therapist after dealing with panic disorder in my own life. For a while, I also had agoraphobia and was afraid to leave my house out of fear and anxiety over having a panic attack. This also led me to depression over thinking I might never be able to leave my home again and live normally. However, through therapy I was able to recover, return to college, and obtain a teaching credential. During my time as a teacher, I realized that many of my students were having problems learning due to what they experienced in the world outside of school and at home. As a result, I returned to college and obtained an MA in Counseling Psychology in 2013 and then my full LMFT license with the state of California. Through the years, I have discovered that life does not always provide us a smoothly paved road. I experienced many things that tempted me to give up, but I was able to make it through these things due to the support of others and through therapy. This is the reason that I am a therapist – to help others receive the help they need. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients on goals they wish to reach as well as overcoming anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and situational difficulties. I look to the past to deal with attachment issues of childhood that may inform the present of the client. I have training in CBT,Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, EMDR, DBT, exposure therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy . I use different therapies as it fits with the client.

I use a collaborative, strengths-based approach rooted in evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered care. Together, we’ll identify practical coping strategies, build resilience, and work toward emotional well-being in a way that feels meaningful to you. I strive to empower clients to be the driver of their own journey, while providing guidance, support, and challenges at a pace that feels comfortable.
