I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and have been practicing since 2020. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical and School Counseling from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, in May 2020. I incorporate a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care. I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs, helping them build resilience, improve relationships, and create meaningful change. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, reading, painting, journaling, and spending time with family and friends.
Together, we’ll explore your challenges and goals—whether it’s where you want to be in a month, six months, or a year. We’ll then identify practical options and strategies to help you get there. After each session, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your situation and concrete actions you can take right away. I’m committed to being flexible in our work together and ensuring we stay accountable to the goals we set.
As a provider, my strengths include creating a safe and empathetic space where clients feel heard and respected. I use a flexible, evidence-based approach, tailoring therapy to each client's needs with methods like CBT, EFT, ACT, MI, and trauma-informed care. I empower clients to take actionable steps toward their goals while fostering long-term personal growth and emotional well-being.
Welcome! I'm Ilhan Ali, LPCC. Take a moment to acknowledge the step you’ve taken toward improving your mental health—because let’s be honest, starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even a little scary, all at once. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore challenges related to anxiety, depression, and self-care. My approach focuses on helping individuals develop assertive communication and healthy boundaries, both with themselves and those around them, to enhance their overall well-being. Therapy is a powerful tool for personal growth, healing, and creating the life you deserve. If that’s what you’re seeking, I’m here whenever you’re ready to begin.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients embrace their thoughts and emotions rather than struggle against them. My approach focuses on mindfulness, values-based actions, and building psychological flexibility. Together, we work on accepting what is out of your control and committing to meaningful changes that align with your values.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. My approach is practical and goal-focused, teaching strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other challenges. Together, we work on building healthier habits for lasting positive change.
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients understand their emotions and strengthen relationships. My approach focuses on breaking negative patterns and building emotional security. Together, we work on improving communication, trust, and deeper connections.
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore their own reasons for change in a supportive and non-judgmental way. My approach focuses on guiding conversations that strengthen motivation and confidence in making positive life changes. Together, we work on resolving ambivalence and building a path toward personal growth and well-being.
I use a trauma-informed approach to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and respected. My focus is on understanding the impact of trauma, fostering resilience, and promoting healing at a pace that feels right for each person. Together, we work on building trust, developing healthy coping strategies, and restoring a sense of control and well-being.
