I started helping those who are seeking to up-level their experiences and shine as their true and authentic selves in 2019. My journey first started in residential treatment facilities where I held space for those in early recovery from substance use disorders. This population ranged from men's only, women's only and LGBTQ+ Many of these individuals also struggled with anxiety, depression, trauma and eating disorders. I have also had the opportunity to work with adolescents at risk of sex trafficking. This work is extremely rewarding as the clients are at an age where they are most influential and willing. I am a deeply spiritual person and practice in the study of yoga and meditation and participate in somatic healings such as Kundalini Light Intergration (KALI) and breathworks. I am also a level two Reiki practitioner (training to become a master) and a certified personal trainer. When I am not holding space for healing, I enjoy being in the outdoors, surfing, climbing, reading and cooking nutritious and fun to eat meals. I hope to continue the journey of providing a safe space for individuals where healing can occur for years to come. I offer sessions both early in the morning (5am - 7am) and later in the evening (6pm - 9pm) to accommodate those who work nine to five or those who just prefer early morning or evening therapy sessions.

I offer a space where your pain can soften, your story can unfold gently, and you can be met with warmth and compassion without judgment. I draw from CBT, TF-CBT, MI, mindfulness, and person-centered, holistic practices — not as rigid techniques, but as tools we weave into the moments when you need grounding, clarity, or a way to steady yourself. Over time, your voice gets stronger. Your patterns make more sense. And the parts of you that learned to survive begin to feel safe enough to soften.

I’m Dr. Andy Davis, a licensed psychologist with 18 years of experience in the mental health field. Thirteen of those years were spent serving in the U.S. Air Force, where I had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress, grief, personality disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, and concerns related to sex and pornography addiction. As a sex-positive therapist, I provide a safe and affirming environment for clients to explore sensitive areas of their lives without fear of judgment. My therapeutic style is both solutions-focused and rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe therapy should be proactive and goal-driven, helping clients not only gain insight but also develop strategies for change. Clients often describe me as direct and honest, while also compassionate and collaborative—I strive to give practical feedback and advice that can be applied both in and outside of sessions. I especially enjoy working with veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and young adults. These groups often face unique challenges, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside them as they navigate life’s complexities. In addition to my clinical work, I have an extensive background in clinical research. While serving in the Air Force, I conducted sleep studies and developed modern treatment approaches for PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. This research continues to inform my practice, and I place strong emphasis on developing healthy routines, quality sleep schedules, and consistent self-care as foundations for mental health. I often work with clients to build structure into daily life, recognizing these habits play a powerful role in resilience and long-term well-being. Above all, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients feel empowered to face challenges, discover new perspectives, and build lasting resilience.

I am Dr. Audrey Levy. I live on a boat, and my private practice hours are available 24/7 by appointment only. I also make house calls. I am experienced in helping my clients deal with issues such as Anxiety, Depression, Stress Reduction, Loss and Grief Recovery, Substance Abuse, Anger Management and Crisis Counseling. I provide a calm, empathetic, and nurturing environment where you will feel heard, and most importantly, understood. Together we will work on ways to help you understand your feelings and compulsions. My grieving clients experience closure through writing letters to their loved ones who have died. This letter writing is effective for all forms of loss. Reading the letters aloud is very healing as it encourages acceptance, and permits moving on to build a life filled with love and laughter. As a Doctor of Psychology and psychotherapist for 45+ years, I've dealt with my own grief and loss by writing the nonfiction book, "Doggie Wisdom for Humans: Advice from Dogs for Humans of All Ages," and an autobiographical fiction series, "The Adventures of the Angel Oleo." I hope you have an opportunity to read my books and that I get to help you.

I am a straight-forward but empathic therapist, who also appreciates the same from her clients. My name is Tyrone Weaver Sr., and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience helping individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive. It takes courage to begin counseling. Right now, as you search for the "right therapist", it may feel a bit like a “dating app” — scrolling through profiles, hoping to find the right person. I understand how overwhelming that can feel. Starting therapy can feel daunting. My role is to create a safe, comfortable, and engaging space where you feel understood — and where you feel like you’re truly getting somewhere. My counseling style feels more like a meaningful conversation than a formal question-and-answer session. I blend clinical expertise and experience with humor, honesty, and heart. I offer reflection, personal insight, and practical tools that help clients create real changes in their lives and relationships. As an experienced clinical social worker, I taught at the USC School of Social Work, training the next generation of therapists. I have spoken at conferences across the country for therapists and medical professionals, and I taught “Making Marriage Work” for 10 years at American Jewish University. I have helped individuals and couples strengthen their relationships through clearer communication, deeper emotional connection, and practical strategies. I am also a Certified Sex Therapist. On the Grow platform, I currently accept individual clients (only) seeking support with sexual concerns, challenges and compulsive sexual behaviors. As a private pay therapist on Grow, I am open to working with couples. In addition to my clinical work, I have long been committed to volunteer service. For many years, I have worked with the Red Cross providing Disaster Mental Health support to individuals experiencing profound trauma. I am deeply grateful to be able to offer compassionate care in these critical moments.

From a young age, I’ve been drawn to people—their stories, their emotions, and the quiet places where they carry their pain. After experiencing my own seasons of grief and change, I realized how powerful it can be to have someone walk beside you through it. Becoming a therapist felt less like a decision and more like a calling to offer the support I once needed myself. Today, I’m honored to hold space for others as they navigate loss, healing, and the search for themselves again.

I have been licensed for 35 years. I received my degree in clinical psychology from George Fox University. I specialize in PTSD, depression and anxiety. I use EMDR and CBT to address trauma. I enjoy helping people discover stories they have been living that no longer work for them. Hope is an essential quality to have as you embrace new narratives and ways of being in the world. I am committed to honesty and compassion as you discover new ways of being. I employ a style that is relational and collaborative. Faith has been an important part of my journey and I am comfortable incorporating that into your work if you desire.

I've been a therapist for about eight years with a keen eye for helping others find deeper meaning through their hardships, a calming presence capable of modeling self-regulation, and a reliable ear for those that need to unload their perceived stress across different life chapters. I also offer a modern, diverse openness for cultural understanding as I am a male Latino fluent in Spanish, have Asian ethnicity, and am first-generation American. I can also empathize with perceived struggles as I grew up with low SES, was greatly affected by a custody battle into my teenage years, and became the primary healthcare agent for my father-figure until his passing from cancer during my early twenties. In more recent years, I learned the differences in transitioning from the role of a stepfather to becoming a father of a newborn. Understanding one's own pain from their story is key to learning the balancing act of validating and/or differentiating how to help others process their felt pain. I offer my therapeutic services as your existential teammate who will metaphorically walk by your side along your therapeutic journey.

Hello, I'm Laura Hansen, a licensed psychologist dedicated to helping individuals find healing and growth. I am based in San Diego, California. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding and collaboration. I see my role as providing you with a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, life transitions or relationship issues, I'm here to help you develop the tools to further your emotional well-being. A little bit about my background: I have provided mental health treatment, assessments, and consultations for over 25 years, working in a variety of settings including inpatient hospitals, military bases and local community practices. I am thrilled to be able to use this online platform in order to further extend my work with people. My foundation of training is with Cognitive Behavioral Interventions. Over the years I have developed a more eclectic approach and incorporated other modalities as well. I stay current with the latest evidence based treatments, and use my training and experience to tailor intervention methods based on my clients' needs. Many times I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as my primary treatment method. If you're not sure what this is, I'd be more than happy to talk about it with you when we meet. I have also provided a link below if you would like to look up some information before our first session. I have found this treatment to be powerful and effective, and in many cases to work faster than more traditional talk therapies.

I have been practicing for over 10 years, and it has been my passion from the beginning. I obtained my Master's degree at the University of Southern California (USC) with concentrations in Health and Mental Health. Working in mental health comes from a deep desire to help others. I have always been curious and passionate about learning how the mind works and what drives certain behaviors. I am continually inspired by human resilience and feel privileged to be in a field that allows me to support others as they explore their identities, discover themselves, deepen self-understanding, and heal from intergenerational wounds and unhelpful patterns. I genuinely believe that you as the client are the expert of your own life and I am here to guide you through your individual journey and human growth. I provide a comforting, compassionate, and free of judgment space. I take a collaborative approach, helping you gain deeper insight into yourself and the underlying factors that may be contributing to life’s challenges. Together, we work towards creating changes that foster a more fulfilling life. In our work together, I meet you where you are and provide guidance as you move forward.

Hi there! Do you ever feel pulled in a million directions? Maybe it's hard to finish tasks, or you're struggling with relationships, work, or your health, and being kind to yourself feels impossible. You're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out by yourself. My goal is to walk alongside you as you face life's challenges, discover your strengths, and move toward real change, healing, and a greater sense of well-being. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist with more than 14 years of experience, and I help people with depression, anxiety, and addiction. I'm speak fluently three languages, English, Farsi, and Pashto. I've traveled across Europe and lived in Asia and South America, and those experiences taught me how much a person's background and life story shape the way they think and feel. I bring that understanding into every session. Clients often describe me as thoughtful, caring, creative, and reliable, with a calm and steady presence. I take a relaxed approach to therapy, and you lead the way. In our first session, we'll start with a quick hello and get to know each other. Then we'll talk about a few of the challenges you're facing. I'll ask open questions and listen closely so I can understand what matters most to you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. Sometimes it takes a few sessions to understand what is really going on underneath and that's perfectly okay.

My style is warm, curious, engaged, and down-to-earth. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently and occasionally asks, “How does that make you feel?” I’ll be right there with you—asking questions, noticing patterns, offering perspective, and sometimes bringing humor into the room when it feels right. I work especially well with thoughtful, self-aware people who have done a lot of thinking about themselves but still find themselves caught in patterns they can’t quite think their way out of. You may be successful and capable on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship patterns, or a persistent sense that something is missing. I also work with people who feel disconnected—from their emotions, their relationships, or even themselves. Sometimes that disconnection developed for very good reasons. If you learned early in life to stay in control, rely on yourself, push feelings aside, or keep others at a distance, those strategies may have helped you survive difficult experiences but now leave you feeling stuck or alone. My approach is grounded largely in Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, mindfulness, and somatic work. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” we get curious about what happened, what you learned to do to survive or belong, and what different parts of you may still be trying to protect. Our work is about more than understanding yourself. It’s about experiencing yourself differently—with more compassion, more choice, deeper connection, and less internal noise.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Grief, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
