Martha Garcia-Enright
Hi, my name is Martha Garcia-Enright and I am an LMFT providing care in the state of California. I have over a decade of experience working with diverse populations in various settings ranging from outpatient mental health care to crisis residential treatment. I help clients through difficult times and life transitions to empower them to live their lives to the fullest with the tools necessary to overcome future obstacles or barriers. As a mother of two beautiful girls, I have a strong passion to assist mothers in their journeys. So many transitions are happening to women in the journey of motherhood, and not enough support is offered or available to us in these times. I am focused on helping you through any part of your motherhood journey, and being a safe place for you to explore your current issues. I want to empower you to be the best version of yourself, with the overall goal of gaining hope and confidence to improve your quality of life.

First session
In our first session together I will focus on getting to know you and your reason for wanting therapy. I will ask some questions to get an understanding of where you have been in your therapy journey and where you would like to go, focusing on how we can work together to best serve you in this moment in time. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and building a strong rapport will enhance our ability to work towards your goal.
Strengths
As a therapist my greatest strength is my experience with a variety of different people from various walks of life. I provide a non-judgmental safe space for us to explore how to best serve you in this moment and get you to where you want to be. I focus on empowering you with skills that will serve you through current and future stressors.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is anyone who is ready to get help and give therapy a try. I truly enjoy working with teenagers, women and mothers in any phase of life. I look forward to being able to help you learn how to cope and gain skills that will make life stress feel more manageable. I also truly enjoy working with mothers who are currently expecting, being able to gain insight and skills prior to baby's arrival can truly make the world of difference for your postpartum experience.
Origin story
I felt motivated to become a therapist after having experienced various difficulties and traumas throughout my life. I was raised by a strong mother who utilized therapy herself and ensured my siblings and I had the help necessary to work through difficult times in our lives. Having experienced support and care in a safe setting motivated me to want to be able to support individuals in that way. To ensure people didn't feel alone during some the of the darkest or hardest parts of their lives. Therapy provides a safe space for individuals to be held and supported in a way that can encourage them to work towards healing and empowerment.
Ongoing work together
As we continue to work together we will ensure that you are feeling confident of utilizing skills on your own and have built insight into behaviors or thought patterns that may have been impacting your ability to work through symptom distress. As progress continues you will feel empowered to manage stress and have an overall better understanding of yourself and what your needs are when life is getting difficult or overwhelming.
Treatment methods
Eclectic
I like to use an eclectic approach to therapy understanding that humans are complex and there is no "one size fits all" technique. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT and mindfulness methods to help understand the connection between thoughts, feelings and actions.
