About me

With over to 20 years of experience working alongside children, teens, adults, and families, I’ve learned the importance of meeting people exactly where they are, whether mentally, emotionally, or sometimes even physically. My “out-of-the-box” approach is flexible and adaptable to each individual's unique needs, offering creative, client-centered strategies where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore at your own pace. My journey began in community-based settings, working with individuals and families often navigating complex systems. That foundation shaped my core belief: to show up to each session with curiosity and deep respect for each person’s unique story. My approach has always been to meet clients where they are, both literally and figuratively, helping them discover healthier coping mechanisms and become more effective in their daily lives. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all. I tailor each session to your unique needs, integrating different modalities to support your growth in ways that feel natural and accessible to you. As your therapist, I show up as my authentic self, with the intention of creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore at your own pace. I offer an environment where you can express yourself freely, gain deeper insight into your thoughts and emotions, and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges more effectively.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our initial session, we’ll take the time to connect and talk about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been in therapy before, I want to create a space where you feel comfortable asking questions and sharing any concerns about the process. If you have previous therapy experience, we’ll explore what worked, what didn’t, and what progress you’ve made. Together, we’ll tailor our approach to fit your current needs and goals, making sure our time together feels meaningful and supportive for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Our work together is built on collaboration, with your priorities, values, and perspective guiding each session. I’m committed to connecting with you honestly and openly, creating a safe and supportive space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions. Bringing difficult feelings and experiences into the light can feel overwhelming, but together we’ll use evidence-based tools to gently explore ways to improve your mood, daily functioning, and overall well-being. With a solution-focused approach, we build on the strengths, experiences, and abilities you already have instead of starting from scratch. We’ll work together to identify your goals and map out clear steps to help you reach them. I also provide a compassionate space for you to explore past traumas, helping you process the emotions and reactions connected to those experiences. Together, we’ll build coping skills that support your sense of safety and empowerment. We’ll explore patterns of attachment and relationships to better understand how early connections shape your present experiences and relationships.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My goal as a therapist is to support you in achieving your personal goals, while recognizing that building trust is the foundation of successful therapy. Although feeling comfortable right away is ideal, I understand that establishing a strong connection often takes time. I welcome honest and direct feedback and commit to bringing authenticity to every session we share. To support your progress, each session will conclude with therapeutic assignments tailored to your needs and preferences. These are designed to be flexible, fitting naturally into your lifestyle and evolving as you grow. We’ll review and adjust them together in our next meeting to ensure they continue to serve you effectively. I’m here to support you in setting goals, working through relationships, adjusting to life changes or new career paths, and managing tough moments like depression and anxiety. In our time together, I use a mix of approaches like Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness, DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing, always keeping your goals and what matters most to you at the center. I truly believe that with resilience, you can discover new ways to make choices that feel right, set boundaries that honor you, navigate grief and loss, communicate more openly, and keep growing in ways that feel meaningful.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I draw from the principles of DBT, which places a strong emphasis on mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. Incorporating DBT into my framework allows me to provide clients with a comprehensive set of skills to manage intense emotions and navigate challenging interpersonal situations.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Within this integrative approach, I prioritize understanding and addressing the interconnected relationships between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as emphasized in CBT.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy principles to foster a proactive and goal-oriented atmosphere, particularly when working with clients facing crisis situations or those seeking short-term interventions.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In session we focus on accepting the uncontrollable aspects of life, such as thoughts and feelings, without judgment or struggle. By acknowledging these experiences, individuals can conserve energy and redirect it towards taking meaningful actions aligned with their values in areas they can control, such as relationships, health, and personal growth. Through this process, ACT aims to enhance psychological flexibility and promote a more fulfilling life.

Attachment-based

In attachment therapy sessions, I work collaboratively with you to explore patterns of attachment and interpersonal dynamics, helping you understand how early relationships influence your current experiences and relationships.
