LPCC specializing in young adults and families. Offering a grounded space for deep attunement, steady support, and practical growth
Outside the office, I enjoy the outdoors, fishing, family life, and playing guitar.
First session
My hope is that following our first session, you feel welcomed, wanted, accepted, and treated with dignity and respect. I hold to a therapeutic philosophy, especially when working with young people, that 'therapy does not matter until I matter to you.' This might show my bias toward attachment theory, but truthfully, I want you to leave our sessions feeling like you matter to me—that you are seen, heard, and unjudged. More than anything, I want you to feel attuned to and leave with the hope that things will get better
Strengths
Fundamentally, I want you to feel that you matter and that your life is never a mistake. No one is hopeless. Joy, beauty, adventure, and healing are always within reach. My role is to truly attune to you—meeting you with quiet presence when you need a steady anchor, or direct guidance when it's time to move forward.
Ideal clients
I welcome clients with any need. Goals are great! But no goals? No problem. As I work a lot with young adults, I have often worked with individuals who have never been in therapy before. I have found it an immense privilege to be a person's first therapist. So, if you're unsure where to start, we can simply ask, 'What question do I want answered?' Together, we focus on self-discovery, life direction, healing past hurts, and building meaningful relationships. Just be curious and be brave to explore
Treatment methods
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based approach that I use in helping clients manage intense emotions and build healthier relationships. I have found DBT to be particularly effective for young people navigating impulsivity, self-harm, and interpersonal challenges, providing them with practical, actionable tools for lasting change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a foundational approach that I utilize for its proven practicality in treating common mental health challenges like anxiety and depression. In my practice, CBT serves as a tool to explore the intricate interplay between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Beyond symptom management, its true value lies in helping clients uncover and understand their core beliefs and personal values.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Using a person-centered approach, my main goal is simple: to fully accept you, so you can learn to fully accept yourself. We look at how aligned your life is with who you truly want to be, and together, we explore and clear away whatever gets in the way of you living as your best self.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
You might picture a therapist endlessly asking, 'And how does that make you feel?'—a cliché that usually isn't very helpful. Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) isn't about repeating that question. Instead, it's about me attuning to your emotional experiences. We map our emotional responses—especially in relationships—understand them, and work together to reshape them. Most people come to therapy because of a feeling they can't shake, and that's because emotions fundamentally govern our internal world. When we unpack, process, and re-order them, emotions become our most powerful catalyst for change. Deeply rooted in attachment theory, EFT is the modality I'm most passionate about, and I consistently see the most profound transformations with this approach.
