I am a straight-forward but empathic therapist, who also appreciates the same from her clients. I also believe in the social work mission of starting where the client is, so sessions are based upon that analogy. I have experience in many areas, including hospital, foster care, group homes, forensics, Veterans, home health, etc. I received my Masters of Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve Univerity, and my Doctorate of Psychology from California Southern University. Although I have a doctorate degree, my scope of practice does not fall under psychological testing, pharmacological practices, nor community services. I only do individual therapy so if you need case management (such as letters), family/couples therapy, psychologicial testing, or medication, please refer to those licensed or practicing in those areas.

Starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even intimidating—and it’s worth taking a moment to recognize the courage it takes to take this first step toward caring for your mental health. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where you can explore challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-care, and more. My goal is to help you strengthen communication and boundaries with yourself and others so that you can improve your quality of life and move toward the future you envision. Therapy is not just about overcoming obstacles—it’s also about personal growth. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and identify strategies to help you move toward them, whether that means change over the next month, six months, or a year. You’ll leave our sessions with practical insights and “next steps” you can put into action right away. I believe life’s purpose isn’t simply to be happy, but to find meaning—and within that meaning, joy emerges. While the journey isn’t always easy, it can be transformative. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addictions Professional, Internationally Certified Drug Counselor, and Behavior Analyst. I take a strength-based approach, helping you use your unique abilities to address challenges. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to empower you in creating lasting change. Most importantly, I bring a relaxed, compassionate, and trustworthy presence, fostering a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe and supported.

Hello, I’m Dr. Cami, a psychologist providing telehealth services to adults in California. I am a native of the Central Valley in California and come from a diverse cultural community. I currently reside in the beautiful country of Norway and enjoy downhill skiing, hiking, gardening, traveling, and learning new languages. As a psychologist, I am passionate about helping individuals develop helpful strategies to effectively navigate their path and the roadblocks that may arise on their journey in life. Upon feeling effective, it is a beautiful experience to walk with the individual as they re-story past hurts, emotions, and experiences into a story of empowerment and growth. As a therapist, this is the gift of therapy: a transactional experience of growth in the therapeutic relationship in which both I, and the client walk along the path of reclaiming self-compassion and identity. In my work, I use warmth, humor, and a nonjudgmental approach to develop a strong alliance with my clients, grounded in authenticity and acceptance. I view therapy as a collaborative experience in which I encourage clients to approach challenges with curiosity and self-compassion. My clients have described me as open to learning and understanding their cultural values and beliefs, warm, easy to talk to, empathic and humorous in session. If I were to use one sentence, to sum up my view of a healthy therapeutic treatment experience, it would be: Therapy, in its purity, is a place where an individual is validated, supported, and empowered to thrive on their path in life.

Hello, I’m Nizhu—a licensed therapist with over 9 years of clinical experience, specializing in men’s mental health, trauma recovery, and motivational interventions. My approach is grounded in strength-based and evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Multisystemic Therapy (MST), where I’m honored to rank in the top 1% of therapists globally. I work with individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes, often supporting clients in breaking generational patterns, rebuilding confidence, and developing healthier coping strategies. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct—because healing doesn’t have to be stiff, and growth rarely happens in silence. Expect real conversations, grounded techniques, and the occasional well-timed joke (because, yes, therapy can be both effective and human). Outside the therapy room, I’m a committed gym enthusiast, fueled by black coffee and protein-packed meals. Tattooed and purpose-driven, I believe in showing up authentically—for my clients and myself. Whether you’re here to build resilience, process trauma, or just get unstuck, I’m here to help—one honest conversation at a time.

Welcome—I’m glad you’re here. Life can feel overwhelming when you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, major life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. Therapy can offer a supportive space to process what you’re going through, gain a better understanding of yourself, and develop tools to feel more grounded and confident in your everyday life. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the lasting effects of domestic violence. I also hold a PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) and have specialized training in supporting individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood. My approach is warm, supportive, and client-centered. I draw from CBT, TF-CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused techniques, and traditional talk therapy. Together, we can work toward understanding patterns that may be keeping you stuck, processing difficult experiences, developing healthier coping strategies, and creating meaningful change. You don’t need to be in a crisis—or have everything figured out—to benefit from therapy. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed or depressed, healing from past experiences, navigating changes in your relationships, or adjusting to a new chapter of life, you deserve a space where you feel safe, supported, and heard. Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’d be honored to support you as you work toward healing, growth, and feeling more like yourself again.

You might be at a turning point. Drained by work or the people around you, running on empty after years of giving more than you had to give, or trying to find your footing after a major life change. Maybe you're realizing how much of yourself you've set aside for others, or you're not sure who you are outside of a role you've outgrown. These are the crossroads I help people navigate, along with the depression, anxiety, and substance use that so often travel with them. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years in the nonprofit sector, where I saw up close the burnout that people who give a lot of themselves often carry quietly. It's a big part of why I do this work today. My clinical background spans community mental health, crisis intervention, and residential addiction treatment, including work with veterans, so I'm comfortable working with substance use, whether it's your own or a loved one's. I bring a trauma-informed approach focused on stability, insight, and understanding the patterns we carry from early relationships into the present. Our work together is collaborative, and we move at a pace that feels right for you. I also work with men who feel isolated or disconnected, and with anyone who has felt alone in carrying it all.

I’m Lauresha Hawkins, LCSW, MSW, MPH, Founder/CEO and Clinical Director of Mental Wellness University, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Inc. I am licensed to provide therapy in California and Alaska and serve as an independent provider with Grow Therapy. I support youth, Transitional Age Youth (TAY), adults, mature adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, substance use concerns, perinatal mental health, family conflict, sports performance, and major life transitions, including the transition from high school to college. Trust, authenticity, mutual respect, and rapport are central to my work. My approach is eclectic, trauma-informed, collaborative, and individualized because therapy is never one-size-fits-all. I bring more than 15 years of social work experience, including eight years providing mental health services as an associate and licensed clinician. My background includes residential treatment, outpatient care, managed care, foster care systems, and psychiatric hospitals. Hello, my name is Derek Nunn and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California. My approach to our collaboration is a solution-focused therapeutic approach revolving around you being the expert with your desired outcomes and my use of specific questions to help identify and amplify strengths, skills, and resources moving you in the direction of your preferred future. Each session is driven by you as we will address your best hopes for each conversation to encourage a respectful collaboration between the two of us. We will also explore increasing psychological flexibility utilizing skills from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have worked with diverse populations in varying settings and programs such as schools, community mental health programs, crisis intervention team programs, and outpatient settings providing individual and group services to clients ages 8-75 both face-to-face and on telehealth platforms. Currently, I have availability to work with individuals ages 18 and older through telehealth only. After working in the fire service for 14 years and recognizing the need to bridge the gap between public safety and mental health services, I transitioned into the mental health field in 2014 and discovered passion for helping people of various ages and health needs. Therapeutically, I have gravitated towards solution-focused therapy blended with acceptance and commitment therapeutic work, mainly because of the drive I have to maintain hope for others, ingrained in me from my fire service career. If you are looking for court mandated counseling, seeking letters for emotional support animals, work disability, custody, or other court related services, I do not provide those services, and refer individuals to other providers having those services as their specialties. I am looking forward to working with you to build solutions towards your preferred future.

My name is Uchechi Alozie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is seeing my clients within their environment and not just the issues they are presenting. My approach is to aid my clients holistically. I have worked with family units for more than 10 years and have worked with individuals with chronic mental illness for 6 years. I am used to working with families with different dynamics. I have a background in child welfare services, so I am very familiar with the trauma that comes from familial interpersonal relationships. I have also worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting with individuals suffering from debilitating chronic mental illness, which has given me experience working with complex mental health needs and individuals during some of the most vulnerable periods of their lives. In addition to my clinical background, my education and training in law have broadened my understanding of the systems that can impact individuals and families and have further shaped the holistic perspective I bring to my work.

Hello. My name is Ana and I am a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (128445), in the beautiful state of California. I have been in the counseling and social work field for 25+ yrs. Simply stated, I was born to do therapy, it is a gift and an honor. I am a safe, trusting and caring person, that is able to connect with a diversity of people, especially those that struggle with feelings of inadequacy. I have worked with children, teens, elderly, foster care, gang members and most recently, death row inmates in prison. I have found through many of those experiences that emotional pain, feeling alone and having anxiety or depression, is common and universal. However, I also know that the desire to live a deeper, peaceful and meaningful life can also be a driving force. I too have done much of that internal work and reflection in my life. I have learned that it is OK to be just me, no longer fearing to live the life that I have earned and deserve. I would love the same for you.

Fifteen+ years go, I began my journey as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Since my start in the field, I have worked within substance abuse residential facilities, Drug Court, intensive in-home behavioral services, military families, and private practice with children, adults, and couples. I have provided support across a variety of populations over the years addressing anxiety, depression, and neurodivergent and immigrant and refugee populations. These experiences have shaped my therapeutic lens and the understanding of how larger systems like health, education, and economic status attribute to mental health challenges. The education and training I received aligned with my belief that mental health and wellness challenges are not developed solely through chemical and psychological disruptions, but are also an outcome of the systems and relationships that have shaped us and those we are currently in. From that perspective, my approach to therapy begins in exploring attachment. One's attachment style as developed in their childhood can trace relationship patterns as well as one's worldview identifying keys to distress. The way we seek comfort in distress impact not only our intimate relationships, but our work life and economic choices. Oftentimes, therapeutic progress has neglected how intricately interwoven are the body, soul, and spirit. Intersecting all three in sessions, I endeavor to proactively support individuals in developing their wellness lifestyle in order to be best informed when future barriers and areas of stuck-ness in life occur. I believe in the power of unveiling one's authentic self and harnessing their inherent strengths to achieve personal and professional fulfillment.

Hello and welcome. First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your courage to take the first step in selecting a therapist. The thought of sharing intimate thoughts, struggles, and personal experiences can be overwhelming and frightening. I hope to help you feel confident that you have come to the right place to express your needs and work on feeling better. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) from California. I have over 12 years experience in providing services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, trauma, and other challenges. I have had the pleasure of working in various settings. For about seven years, I worked at a community mental health agency treating children, adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of needs especially those who have experienced trauma. I have found that each individual comes with their unique story and background. My first experience using telehealth was during the pandemic. With the increase of mental health needs, I discovered the importance of being able to provide services through the telehealth platform. It inspired me to continue to reach those clients who desire telehealth for various reasons. Life can be busy with schedules and finding time for therapy is not always easy. Telehealth can make therapy a little easier.

I am a Licensed California Therapist along with many other certifications so I may support clients on thier journey. I am trained, experienced and skilled in a variety of modalities aside from talk therapy. We will attune to methods that will be effective and gentle. On this platform I work with Adults and Parents through telehealth. Clients often, utilize other means of expression such as expressive arts, meditation , grounding, spirituality, writing, journaling and photo therapy technique. So often clients , have other ways of expression which I identify to possibly try out.

Life can feel overwhelming when past experiences continue to show up as anxiety, stress, or emotional exhaustion. You may notice patterns that don’t make sense, feel stuck in survival mode, or carry a heaviness you can’t quite name. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s beneath the surface, and begin responding to life with more clarity and self-compassion. You don’t have to navigate difficult seasons alone—healing is possible, and support can make the path forward feel more steady and manageable. I also work in afternoons and evenings to ensure everyone gets a chance to be seen.

We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Yes! If you use Sharp Health Plan you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Sharp Health Plan you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
