My name is Kevin Thompson. Making and achieving goals is important to me. If you pick me as a therapist we will be working. I like psychotherapy, talking about the random and not so random thoughts to find meaning, seek closure, or find solutions. That being said, I also like using recovery tools and developing coping skills. Whatever the case, I hope to hear from you soon.
In the first session , initially we will discuss why you are seeking therapy. I believe in letting you "get it off your chest." Then we will go over the intake and develop a treatment plan.
I am non-judgmental. I make no assumptions. I seek to understand what you are saying completely. I am not afraid of discussing anything at all that may be affecting your mental health. Lastly, I genuinely care. I will use everything within the scope of my practice to get you the results you seek.
CBT is appropriate for many counseling needs. Using CBT we consider thoughts, feelings, and actions, and adjust accordingly. Thought processes and thinking errors are addressed and corrected resulting in a more functional thought process.
With Eclectic therapy, many different counseling principles are utilized as needed individually or in combination. This allows for an "in the moment" approach.
Mindfulness is a practice that takes us from the past and the future to 100% in the present. With this awareness we are able to prioritize and address clearly the issues that are influencing how you feel and the way you think.
