Hello, and welcome! My name is Amber Stewart, and I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) out of Western Pennsylvania; I'm also licensed in Wisconsin. I specialize in anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and trauma. I want to help you go from just tolerating the symptoms of your anxiety, depression, or trauma to living fully in the present and having a healthy relationship with yourself. You deserve to live the life you envision for yourself, and I want to help you do that by exploring the areas you’re struggling with, teaching you ways to cope, and reducing the impact that these symptoms have on your life by addressing them at their core. I believe that underlying most (if not all) mental health concerns is some kind of trauma – and, there are many studies that support my belief that trauma is connected to depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. I invite you to learn more about my approaches to therapy, trauma, and trauma therapy by visiting my website: (www.everystepforward.com). And, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Do you feel overwhelmed these days? Are you constantly trying to strike a balance between the demands of work and parenting or co-parenting, while also managing your health, housework, and perhaps other demands? In your family, does the caretaking always fall to you? Are you experiencing depression and anxiety in reaction to either a past trauma and/or burnout from stress? I work with women who are experiencing what I like to call "multiple-role fatigue". I have experience in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma-related stress disorders common to women who face an ever-mounting load of responsibilities in a complex society, where being a mother or a caretaker often comes with diverse challenges and responsibilities. I also like to work with clients on their recovery from trauma. With this in mind, I incorporate various treatment modalities, where healing and recovery can take place through a combination of compassionate conversation, active listening, homework assignments journaling, mindfulness, self-reflection, cognitive behavior therapy, grief counseling, boundary setting and trauma-informed care. I also offer a faith-based support, where clients seeking a Christian approach are welcome. I like to form a supportive alliance with caregivers to help them navigate the demands of parenting a child or children with higher needs. I focus on parental needs, and I work with clients using evidence-based techniques to empower them to achieve balance and experience lasting well-being. For parents, I'm a big advocate of self-care, and I help my clients learn to nurture themselves in a sustainable way to avoid burnout. I also believe that parents need to feel seen and heard, and the stress of parenting cannot be overemphasized. Forming a partnership with parents, giving them a forum in which they feel consistently supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, therefore, is one of my top priorities as a therapist.

Hello, and welcome. With over 36 years of experience, I offer calm, compassionate, and highly skilled therapy across mental health, trauma, and substance use. I’m a clinical social worker and pastoral counselor, which allows me to support not only emotional healing, but also deeper questions around meaning, purpose, and spiritual distress. I’ve been practicing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) since 1993 and have advanced training in approaches designed to resolve trauma efficiently and thoroughly. These include the Flash Technique and a modality I developed, Rapid Somatic Pendulation (RSP), which focuses on helping the body release what the mind alone cannot. My work is active and focused. Rather than staying in prolonged talk therapy, we target the underlying patterns driving anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and addiction—so that meaningful, lasting change can occur. Clients often come to me after other therapies have helped but not fully resolved what they’re carrying. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy, tailoring each approach to your specific goals and needs. Whether you’re dealing with longstanding trauma, current stressors, or a sense of disconnection from meaning or purpose, we’ll work collaboratively toward relief and clarity. I have a bit of training and experience, but I also believe in the power of a real relationship with my clients, which means a lot towards getting better. If you’re looking for therapy that is experienced, grounded, and oriented toward real outcomes, you’ll likely find this a strong fit.

Hi there! I’m Sarah :) Congratulations at taking the first step in reaching out to a counselor. I can understand how difficult it can be for some to make that decision. It can be hard to admit when someone feels like they need additional help in their lives to get things moving in a positive direction. It's important to recognize that this is not a flaw, and that teamwork is sometimes the best solution for an issue. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is very important and that you need to feel comfortable with someone to open up and trust. I found my career as a therapist as a secondary one which has provided exposure to multiple therapeutic settings. My start in community mental health gifted me with a well-rounded, diverse level of training and exposure to the human experience. More importantly, my background reinforced the importance and power of the therapeutic relationship. I am curious, empathetic, affirming, and compassionate. My sense of humor often finds its way into our sessions (as do my dogs, if you're so inclined!). Together, we will map your treatment, so that you are clear as to what to expect, regardless of the intervention. We start at the place you are ready, reinforcing the strengths and resiliency that you already exhibit. Together, we build from there to address what you came in for.. Therapy is hard work, but it is also profoundly full, rewarding and empowering. It's important for me to honor both the challenges and rewards.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by stress or coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, ADHD, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, postpartum changes, school or work stress, legal issues, or major life transitions, I provide a supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. My approach is warm, direct, and solution-focused. Together, we'll identify what's keeping you stuck, strengthen healthy coping skills, and build practical strategies that help you feel more confident in your daily life. I specialize in trauma-informed care and am certified in EMDR and TF-CBT. I have experience working with both complex mental health concerns and clients who are generally functioning well but want support processing difficult experiences and trauma, improving relationships, or managing stress more effectively. When clinically appropriate and based on medical necessity, I am able to complete FMLA and disability paperwork as part of treatment. My goal is to help you feel supported, develop effective coping tools, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Hi, I’m Tricia, a licensed clinical social worker who works with women navigating anxiety, overwhelm, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the pressure to have it all together. Many of my clients are thoughtful, driven, and used to being the person others can count on, but internally may feel stuck, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of what they truly want. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth, drawing from CBT, mindfulness, EMDR, strengths-based therapy, and trauma-informed care. I also pay close attention to the mind-body connection because our bodies can often reveal what words alone cannot. I will support you, challenge you, and call out the patterns that keep showing up so you can stay focused on what matters to you. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more like yourself again, trust your own voice, feel more confident in your decisions, and create a life that feels more connected to what you truly want.

Hey there, I’m Chris! If you feel like you’re giving everything you’ve got and it’s still not enough, you’re not alone. Maybe you’re stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, emotional spirals, or shutdown, even though you look “put together” on the outside. Life, relationships, and work all feel like too much. You’re tired of being told to “just try harder” or "figure it out." I get it! I’m a licensed counselor with over 22 years of experience, and I know these struggles personally. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 36 and have raised 3 kids with ADHD (one also has Autism). I know how isolating it feels when we just can't keep up or "do the things" everybody else seems to do so effortlessly. My approach is compassionate and collaborative; we are teammates working together. Clients often say it’s the first time therapy has truly made sense. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing who you are. It’s about understanding yourself, building tools that actually work for you in your life, and creating a space where you feel seen, supported, and accepted. I offer online therapy in PA, FL, and SC.

I am the mother to 2 grown children and a grandmother. I was married for over 40 years prior to my husband passing, I now share my house with a Golden Retriever. I went back to school later in life, and like to encourage others to do the same if possible. My first experience in this field came when I got a job at a county mental health/developmental services program as a receptionist. I was motivated by all the great work that the caseworkers were doing to improve their clients lives. I went back to school to finish my Bachelors and finally received a Masters in Social work. I retired from the county program as a Casework Supervisor, I felt that my position was becoming more administrative, and I was missing the connections I had made with my clients. At that time I felt it was time to work on what my original goal was which was to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I did work for 5 years with children with behavioral issues in school and in their homes. My previous position was in a small practice in rural PA, where I learned the importance of being eclectic in my treatment approach because every clent and their situation is different , and they deserve to have a treatment plan specifically targeted to their situation

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Pennsylvania. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
