Welcome!!! I am a compassionate, trauma-informed therapist who believes healing begins when people feel truly seen, heard, and understood. With more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, I specialize in helping individuals navigate substance use disorders, process addictions, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth and change. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, gain insight into patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop healthier ways of coping and connecting with others. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions, tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. I am passionate about helping clients build resilience, strengthen emotional regulation, improve relationships, and develop a greater sense of self-compassion. I also have extensive experience working with first responders, military service members, veterans, and their families, understanding the unique challenges that can arise from high-stress professions and trauma exposure. Whether you are working through past trauma, struggling with addiction, facing relationship challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, I am committed to meeting you where you are. My goal is to help you identify your strengths, create meaningful change, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. My goal is to provide a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and exploring what matters most to you. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what has brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, life experiences, strengths, and the goals you hope to achieve. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, stress, grief, or a major life transition, this session is designed to help us better understand your unique story and needs. Therapy is not about having all the answers or knowing exactly where to begin. It is a collaborative process where we work together to identify patterns, build on your strengths, and develop tools to help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity. I believe every person has the capacity for growth and healing, and therapy can provide the support needed to create meaningful change. During our first meeting, I will also review confidentiality, answer any questions you may have, and explain how the therapy process works so you feel informed and comfortable. There is no pressure to share everything right away. We will move at a pace that feels right for you. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered as we work toward your goals together. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a better understanding of how we can work together, some initial direction for treatment, and a foundation for a trusting therapeutic relationship. Whether you are seeking healing, personal growth, healthier relationships, or new ways to cope with life’s challenges, therapy can be a place to gain insight, build resilience, and create lasting change. I look forward to being part of your journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my approach apart is my commitment to creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration. I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel safe enough to be vulnerable, explore difficult experiences, and discover their own strengths. With more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, I work with individuals facing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, process addictions, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I understand that every person’s journey is unique, which is why I tailor treatment to meet each client’s specific needs, goals, and experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I strive to help clients understand how past experiences may influence current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical skills to navigate life's challenges more effectively. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I work with clients to foster self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, and lasting personal growth. I have extensive experience supporting individuals in recovery from substance use and behavioral addictions, helping clients develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen relapse prevention skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change. I also work with specialized populations, including first responders, military members and families, and healthcare professionals, understanding the unique stressors and demands these roles can bring. My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Whether you are seeking healing, recovery, greater self-understanding, or support through a difficult season of life, I am committed to helping you build the tools and confidence needed to move forward with clarity and purpose.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Utilizing DBT I am able to explore with clients to manage emotional dysregulation, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Integrating DBT skills mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness into both individual and group sessions, teaching clients practical strategies to cope with difficult emotions, improve relationships, and reduce maladaptive behaviors. I tailor DBT interventions for diverse populations, including long-term clients, first responders, military personnel, and healthcare professionals.

EMDR

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences, painful memories, and deeply held negative beliefs. Through structured phases, I guide clients to safely access distressing memories while focusing on bilateral stimulation, helping the brain reprocess the experience and reduce emotional intensity. I integrate EMDR with trauma-informed care, supporting clients in developing positive beliefs, improving emotional regulation, and building resilience. This approach is effective for clients struggling with PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to help clients explore the stories they tell about themselves and their lives, identifying how these narratives influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By externalizing problems—seeing them as separate from themselves—clients gain perspective and empowerment to challenge limiting beliefs and patterns. I guide clients to re-author their stories in ways that reflect resilience, strengths, and desired change, supporting them in creating meaning, improving self-identity, and fostering healthier relationships. This approach is particularly effective for clients dealing with trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, or life transitions.
