My biggest passion has always been to help others, and I am so grateful that I am able to achieve that passion as a therapist. Through my own healing, I have found grace in managing life stressors, so I know firsthand how frustrating and challenging things can be! Helping my clients identify struggles and find new skills for managing or coping makes my work as a therapist feel very rewarding. Healing is possible, and you can grow into the person you were always meant to be.
Our first session together will be focused on getting to know one another and gathering as much information as possible to determine goals for treatment and whether I can help you with those goals. I try to make an intake session informal rather than feeling like an interview where I am asking you tons of questions. I want to make sure you are paired with the most fitting therapist, even if that turns out not to be me!
Authenticity is my most treasured asset, and I have found that the clients I have seen value this characteristic and makes them feel more understood and seen. I won't pretend to know everything (because no one does) and I am committed to talking WITH my clients instead of "at" them. My mantra is quite simple: I am here to help you help yourself. I do not have all the answers, but I am here to guide you as you find solutions within yourself through nonjudgment, active listening, and of course, a sprinkle of humor.
My area of expertise is in trauma and PTSD, where I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to improve these conditions. EMDR is evidenced-based and highly effective in treating a multitude of mental health conditions and concerns. I have had the pleasure of witnessing my clients experience complete transformations by utilizing EMDR in our therapy sessions. I work best with transitional age youth(16-24), adults, and other helping professionals for a variety of challenges including ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, burnout and secondary trauma, and OCD.
I am EMDR Certified and have been practicing this modality with clients since 2022. I use a somatic focus in my approach, which means that I have clients focus heavily on body sensations during processing sessions. I love EMDR because I have seen the positive impact it has on my clients and how it has transformed many of them.
