Hi, I'm Michele. I have been a Licensed Therapist for over 15 years. Reaching out and asking for support can be daunting. Whether it is deciding to take the first steps in healing from trauma, working to understand your reactions and how you respond to any form of rejection, or wanting to process thoughts about who you are amidst the expectations of others; having a therapist who will hold space for you, without judgement, and provide you with supportive, challenging and truthful tools to help in your journey can make a world of difference in where and how you ultimately land.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I would like us to spend time getting to know each other. I especially want to get to know you and hear a little about your story but I also want you to feel free to ask some questions of me in regard to my professional expertise or things you feel strongly about pertaining to our therapeutic relationship. If there's time, and if it is relevant, we might talk about any past experiences you’ve had with counseling and things that were or were not helpful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths are that I tend to be great at developing a rapport with my clients and making them feel heard and valued. This has then allowed me to be therapeutically challenging when needed which has translated into growth for my clients in treatment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well adults age 18+. My experience includes working with individuals who have a history of trauma. I have a great deal of experience working with young adults in college, specifically those exploring and/or struggling with their gender and/or sexual identity.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I draw from mindfulness-based techniques to help with grounding and calming. In today's hectic and fast-paced world, it can sometimes be difficult to slow down our bodies reactions to stressors or events we encounter.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT can be extremely helpful in so many scenarios. It's something I go back to time and again to help clients identify their thought patterns in a different way, restructure thoughts or behaviors that are not working for them and, look at and face challenges with support.

EMDR

EMDR is an evidence-based treatment approach that assists a client in healing from symptoms of emotional distress that are usually the result of traumatic life experiences. EMDR may be right for some individuals. It's a structured therapy that takes time to build into. If you would like to talk about whether EMDR might be a good fit for you, I would be happy to meet and talk more specifically about this approach.
