As a certified trauma specialist, I understand the critical role I play in helping individuals recover from traumatic experiences. However, it's important to note that you, as the client, also play a significant role in this process. We work collaboratively, with your active participation, to help you heal. Your role in the comprehensive assessment, for instance, is crucial as it helps us understand the nature and impact of the trauma you've experienced from your perspective. Together, we develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to meet your unique needs. This plan utilizes breakthrough integrative trauma-informed care strategies that foster a safe and supportive process conducive to healing, instilling hope and optimism in your recovery journey. Directing our attention to your inner world of thoughts, feelings, and emotions is the compass that guides the process of healing from the traumatic event(s) you've faced. These events can encompass a broad spectrum of experiences, from natural disasters to abuse, accidents, and other forms of violence. Whether you've encountered a single traumatic event or have a history of complex trauma, our objective is to furnish you with the support and tools necessary for your healing journey. My approach is not solely about healing, but about transformation. By employing integrative breakthrough strategies and techniques from Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), we aim to alleviate your current symptoms and help you develop a new perspective on your experiences. This integrative approach blends principles from internal family systems and sensorimotor psychotherapy, which are effective in addressing complex trauma symptoms. TIST provides a comforting framework to help you understand your symptoms, form an alliance with your reactions, and assist you in learning new ways of relating to your experiences. We utilize a range of trauma-focused therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindful Practices, and others, to help you release traumatic memories, regulate your nervous system, calm your mind, awaken your courageous heart, and activate a resilient spirit. This process instills a hopeful and transcendent mindset, leading to transformative change as you shed fear, shame, and humiliation and embrace your wellness journey with self-assuredness, pride, and optimism.

The principles and practices of licensed clinical social work underpin the holistic, unifying approach of Integrative therapy approach (ITA) that considers and brings together physiological, emotional, cognitive, contextual, spiritual, and behavioral systems. In my practice, I have found ITA to be highly effective in treating a range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), or symptoms of ADHD. This should instill confidence in you about the potential of ITA. The multi-dimensional relational construct is person-centered and meets each person's unique needs. A customized treatment plan for each client draws on scientific practices and techniques rooted in systemic support that considers your health and well-being.
Play therapy (PT) is a powerful tool that allows children to express themselves fully, revealing their unique personalities in ways that ordinary conversations cannot. The art of Play serves as a window into the child's thoughts, feelings, emotions, and beliefs, empowering them to navigate daily challenges and struggles. BConneXted C&PS utilizes Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), a method that respects and values children's Play as their fundamental way of communication. The approach ensures that the process always honors and respects the child's perspective. CCPT, the most researched and practical play therapy approach, empowers children to examine their emotional world and engage in self-curiosity and self-awe, instilling confidence and self-awareness and reassuring parents about their child's emotional well-being. CCPT, a comprehensive, evidence-based therapeutic system, emerged from deeply rooted philosophical beliefs in children's ability and strength to be self-directing. The philosophy encompasses the therapist's intentional commitment to specific beliefs about children and their inherent ability to strive toward clarity, growth, and maturity. It embodies attitudes and behaviors for living one's life in relationships with children that ease inner emotional growth and children's belief in themselves. In CCPT, I create a safe and supportive environment for children to express themselves freely through Play, always respecting their individuality. However, the role of parents or caregivers is equally essential. I train you to function as therapeutic agents for your children in their daily world. This collaborative approach, where you as a parent are a crucial part, is not just beneficial but necessary for your child's well-being. Your involvement is critical, and we believe in your ability to support your child's journey, empowering you to play a significant role in your child's emotional well-being
With extensive training and practice in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I use the technique and related processes to help you process traumatic memories and reframe negative beliefs you embody in response to past traumatic events. The ultimate goal is to reduce the emotional impact of the trauma and promote your healing journey. I generally use bilateral tapping stimulation (another option is eye movement), which aids your brain in processing traumatic experiences.
I employ Mind-Body Therapies tailored to the unique needs of individuals experiencing a physiological reaction to perceived threats that stem from emotions and memories trapped in your body - heart, muscles, glands, jaw, neck, back, and literally from throughout the body since the nervous system spans the entire body. Your body reacts physically to the trapped, unprocessed emotions. Frequently, we describe physical reactions as fight/flight/freeze/fawn responses. The unconscious stress responses can become chronic and manifest themselves as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other mental health challenges. The approaches address symptoms that might include irritability, exhaustion, distraction, racing heart rate, many competing thoughts, restlessness, disinterest in what you once found pleasurable, or feeling worthless or not good enough. Scientific evidence suggests that physical symptoms directly result from the mind's influence on the body. Comprehensive Mind-Body therapies seek to improve the mind's destructive impact on the heart and body. A wide range of behavioral, psychological, social, expressive, and spiritual approaches provide a holistic support system for mental and physical well-being. This comprehensive approach ensures we address all aspects of your well-being, offering a profound sense of reassurance and support. The therapies I employ are diverse and comprehensive. They include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Relaxation Practice (MRBP) -Guided imagery, Deep breathing exercises, Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR), Listening to Healing music greater than 432 Hz, dance movement, Qigong, and creative therapies that include playing a musical instrument or engaging in artistic processes. Each approach seeks to increase concentration, body awareness, emotional awareness, and regulation, thereby reducing stress's impact on the body and mind. Evidence-based practices reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. For those with ADHD, they can improve focus, reduce impulsivity, enhance thoughtfulness, and better manage stress, offering a promising path to recovery.
