Welcome! I am a compassionate, trauma-informed therapist with extensive experience helping clients navigate some of life’s most challenging struggles. My areas of specialty include substance use disorders, process addictions, eating disorders, and trauma. I also have a strong background working with first responders, military service members, and their families, understanding the unique stressors, cultural dynamics, and mental health challenges. I approach therapy with a client-centered and individualized perspective. I understand that no two journeys are the same, and I work collaboratively to create a safe, supportive space. My goal is to help you identify patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and gain insight into the underlying factors that may be influencing your behaviors and emotional responses. In my work with substance use and process addictions, I focus on helping clients build resilience, identify triggers, and strengthen tools for relapse prevention. When supporting clients with eating disorders, I combine compassionate support with evidence-based interventions to address both the physical and psychological aspects of recovery. I also specialize in trauma-focused care, helping individuals process painful experiences in a safe and structured way, reducing emotional distress, and building emotional regulation skills. Working with first responders and military clients, I understand the high levels of stress, trauma exposure, and unique cultural factors that can impact mental health. I provide practical tools, psychoeducation, and coping strategies to support emotional well-being while honoring the unique identity and experiences of each client. Whether you are seeking to process trauma, heal from addiction, manage anxiety or depression, or improve your overall well-being, I am here to guide you. Together, we can create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, fosters personal growth, and empowers you to live a more balanced and fulfilling life. You are not alone in this journey, and change is possible.

Hello and welcome! My name is Melanie Timbers, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. In my 30's, I decided to change career paths pursuing my studies and career as a mental health therapist. This was one of the best decisions I ever made, as I consider it an honor and privilege supporting adults with improving their mental health and wellbeing. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh Master of Social Work Program, I have worked in the mental health profession for 7 years. Initially, I provided mental health therapy to adults in an intensive outpatient program of a psychiatric hospital. I also provided mental health therapy to adults with substance use disorders while working in a medication assisted treatment outpatient program. I certainly valued these experiences as well as my current role of providing outpatient mental health therapy to adults who are looking to improve their mental health, becoming the best versions of themselves.

Fulfilling our potential is a lifelong journey of becoming more at peace with ourselves, deepening the intimacy in our relationships, being more authentically human, and feeling more alive each day. Along the way, certain challenges arise to cause us distress or confusion. Such moments can make us feel held back, afraid, or unsure of where to go from here. But these moments can also be the points of growth and healing from which we renew ourselves in ways we did not think possible. It is a great privilege helping men and women in their search to improve their relationship with themselves and others, to lessen the burden of emotional pain, to experience freedom from addictions, or to embark on new life challenges - to find the hope and courage needed to take those important next steps.

Hello. My name is John. I bring with me over 27 years of doing therapy. In addition to clinical psychology, I have backgrounds and education in music education, philosophy, spirituality and religion. My background and life experience gives me an ability to seek a larger picture of situations in life and offer unique resolutions to things that may occur in the course of one's life. I am a strong believer in the individual's ability to address and resolves problems their own issues. It is my belief and practice to treat the person, not the symptom or problem. My approach is one of assisting you in identifying various aspects of what brings you to therapy, including but not limited to, the strengths and limitations you bring, your life situation, the context of your life and the issue, the portion others and your environment may be contributing to your situation and the impact all of these element have on what is going on in your life. An integral part of this process is assisting you in increasing and understanding and awareness of yourself. Often, we get so caught up in the day-to-day activities that it feels kind of like one is an automaton. Person growth involves having choices and there is no choice where there is no awareness. Raising a level of self-awareness increases your ability to have and make choices. Through exploration of all these factors and possibly more, we will work toward a resolution that works for you and one that allows you to live a fuller and happier life.

Life is hard. Sometimes it feels like problems come one after another. It is overwhelming. You don't have to get through it alone. Therapy is a great place to talk about life's problems where you can say anything and not be judged. No matter what you’re facing, talking with someone can help. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free space where you feel like you’re grabbing coffee with a friend…a friend who happens to be a licensed counselor with more than 11 years of experience. In my time working as a counselor, I have helped patients manage and overcome obstacles like anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. From challenges with the overwhelming pressure of academic life, work life, career choices, relationship challenges, and more, I will be there to offer an objective perspective on your situation and provide healthy tips and resources to navigate it. My approach empowers personal growth while always ensuring you feel safe, seen, and heard. Depending on your needs, I utilize CBT, DBT, and Reality Therapy approaches in sessions. Currently, all sessions will be conducted virtually, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your own home and on a more flexible schedule. Let's do this together.

I have 32 years of experience providing counseling. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, stressing that what we think determines what we feel and what we do. For many reasons, people learn unrealistic or destructive thoughts that cause them problems in their lives. Therapy works towards more realistic thinking, and avoiding old and destructive thinking. As I like to say, "therapy is a conversation with a destination," and realistic thinking is that destination. While I am a Christian, I am not trained as a Christian Counselor. I am a "Counselor who is a Christian." My training is secular, and I regularly see people or all faiths, or none at all. I do not offer court ordered services, nor do I do assessments for custody, or any other legal purpose. Unfortunately, I cannot accept Medicare, or Medicare based plans. The world is changing, and more and more people are reaching out. I am seeing more men that have been in abusive relationships. There are also more people dealing with loss. Coming to my office is not like going to a big mental health clinic where you just another number on a spreadsheet. In my care, you are a person, and you'll be treated like one.

Do you struggle with feeling an abrupt surge of fear that seems hard to predict? Maybe it is easy to predict and hard to control. Does the thought of what others might think or say prevent you from making connections with others? Experiencing doubt and uncertainty about the future can be difficult and make it hard to navigate life. Worrying about decisions that need to be made can leave us feeling stuck. Feeling like the effort you make at work, in school, and in relationships is greater than the the outcome achieved? Maybe there has been difficulties with staying organized, problems with forgetfulness, and feeling like there is something holding you back from achieving your goals and full potential. If you feel like there has always been a challenge of fulfilling your full potential, I am here to help! There is good news, I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I treat the co-occurring disorders accompanying anxiety such as depression and trauma using evidenced based approaches creating an environment that helps you identify solutions that allow for growth and change. Utilizing a neuroscience based approach, I will help you learn about what parts of the brain are involved in anxiety, how they interact with each other and potentially increase the intensity of anxiety, and targeted interventions for each part of the brain so that lasting change is made. I also specialize in treating ADHD and as a psychotherapist with ADHD, I can help provide unique perspectives and approaches to working through and managing ADHD with and without medication! Taking the step towards getting help can be difficult! It is also the most important step toward feeling relief and being able to thrive in life. To me, there's no better job than showing people how to use their minds to work for them instead of against them by getting past their mental blocks and past traumas so they don't have to suffer any longer. Specifically, I work with two groups - couples and parents. Couples that aren't communicating very well that have lost that once special connection with their partner and parents struggling with their children's behaviors.

Hi. I'm Bill. I've been working in this field since 2003 treating adults experiencing symptoms related to the anxiety disorders, depressed mood, identity and self-concept difficulties, relationship problems, life-transition difficulties, and traumatic memories. These difficulties along with other related topics that may surface during a therapy session. My therapy approach is quite straightforward, collaborative, and non-judgmental. It's structured to help you develop a healthier and happier life. We begin by identifying the circumstances that prompted you to seek therapy. Sudden life changes such as the loss of a loved one, the death of a pet, or diagnosis with a chronic or debilitating disease, are hard to handle. Being a caregiver for a loved one who has a chronic or terminal illness can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience; but it also comes with stresses that can be hard for friends and family to understand. Being a person who needs help to manage day to day activities of living can also be difficult, even if the help is appreciated. Illness, loss of mobility, reduced independence, physical and emotional pain can change your relationship with others and with yourself. Even positive life transitions such as retirement, promotions, or reprioritizing your work/life balance to focus on what matters, can be stressful. Whatever changes you are going through can impact your ability to find meaning, a sense of purpose, or hope in your life. Whether you have always struggled with feelings of depression and anxiety, or they have come as a result of these changes in your life, I believe therapy can help. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2004, and am currently offering individual therapy via telehealth for clients in Pennsylvania. Before becoming a psychotherapist in Pennsylvania, I worked in developing and delivering community and mental health services in Arizona. Throughout my career I have worked closely with older adults, caregivers, members of the disability community, residents in long term care, and residents in transitional and emergency housing for older victims of elder abuse and intimate partner violence. I have lived experience with chronic illness, disability, and remote caregiving. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a survivor of suicide. I bring all of this professional and personal experience to my practice.

I am Jeff, like it says on this page. I love games of all kinds and dogs of all kinds. I sit crosslegged on chairs when I can and enjoy kneading dough for baking. I'm verbose and use words as if they were legos. I have worked in hospitals, community mental health centers, a retirement home and now I am content to be in private practice. I have experience with crises, sudden life transitions and choices that seem impossible to come back from. I'm familiar with being awkward and have experience being the outcast. I became a therapist because there were many times earlier in my life where I needed support and guidance from someone who could understand me without being judgmental or controlling. Being a strange enough person already, I never quite found someone empathetic towards my situation until meeting my first therapist - a literally life changing experience. Even with almost 10 years as a therapist, I'm certainly not claiming that I'll change your life as a guarantee just because of who I am - a therapist helped me see that so much change came about by my own efforts over the years, change that you can also be empowered to pursue. I am the sort of person that will work in your interest, work for your health when it feels like illness gets in the way. If you happen to be someone or know someone that often puts others before themselves at the expense of wants and needs for themselves, then you may know me pretty well already. Transparently, I am not using AI in any form to write anything you read here about myself or my methods.

Have you been wondering if your current challenges are due to past traumatic life events? Do you struggle in relationships? If so, I may be the Therapist for you. I specialize in trauma therapy for teenagers and adults. Many people often think trauma is only caused by violent crimes, acts of physical abuse, or natural disasters. They may also think because trauma happened a long time ago, it does not affect them in the present. These are a few of the myths about trauma. There are many types of traumas such as the sudden or unexpected death of a loved one, bullying, retaliation in the workplace, neglect from parents, infidelity, intimate partner violence, the witnessing of domestic violence and more. If you or your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, or life stressors, therapy with me can help with positive changes to strengthen self-esteem and confidence. I am trained in EMDR and other trauma therapy approaches. My years of professional experience as a teacher and counselor, along with my lived experiences as a Black person allow me to provide empathetic regard while helping clients from multicultural backgrounds.

I have worked in mental health for over 20 years. I received my BA in Psychology in 1994 and my Masters in Social Work in 1997. Since then, I have worked in various settings including the Behavioral Health System of Philadelphia, numerous behavioral health facilities which include psychiatric units, detox and rehabs, college counseling settings and in assisted living/nursing facilities with older adults. In 2013, I started an in person private practice and then made the jump to telehealth during the pandemic. I find that telehealth is much more accessible and convenient for clients as we are still able to do amazing work together! Do you ever feel stuck? Do you feel like nobody understands what you are going through? Do you feel like you have burdened friends and family with your worries even though you know they love you? Do you feel like you have the answers but nobody around you is listening? You do not have to have a major mental health diagnosis to go to therapy. You may be going through a life transition or having trouble communicating with others. You might be surrounded by others with deeper issues which is affecting your mental health. Or you might be suffering from anxiety, depression or past unresolved trauma. You might have disordered eating, obsessive-compulsive tendencies or an urge to use alcohol or drugs to self-medicate your pain. You might be coping in ways that aren’t healthy but that is how you learned to cope. I can help you navigate whatever place you are in and help to elevate you to a healthier space where you feel happier and more in tune with yourself. There are numerous reasons why people come to therapy. Just know that with me, you will be in a judgement free zone and I will utilize my many years of experience to assist you to getting to a better place. I work with anyone over 16 years old. I have specialized experience working with college aged clients and the older adult population. I have a long history of working with those from the LGBTQIA+ population as well. I look forward to meeting and connecting with you!
