New to Grow
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based settings. My clinical experience includes mental health, substance use, trauma, crisis intervention, and family-focused care. My approach is warm, compassionate and individualized. I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel heard, respected, and safe enough to be honest about what they are experiencing. I work collaboratively with clients to identify their goals, build on their strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. I have extensive experience working with individuals impacted by substance abuse and co-occurring mental health concerns, as well as navigating trauma, life transitions, relationship and family challenges, Autism, and emotional or behavioral difficulties. In addition to providing clinical care, I have served in leadership and clinical supervision roles, including Director of Clinical Services and Clinical Supervisor. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to quality of care, collaboration, and empowering both clients and clinicians. I hold a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lock Haven University and a Bachelor of Psychology with a concentration in Counseling from East Stroudsburg University. My professional credentials include National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). Above all, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported without judgement and empowered to take the next steps toward healing, recovery, and a healthier life.
Our first session will be a relaxed setting and conversation in which I get to know you, your goals, and how I can help you be the best version of yourself. We will identify steps to help you achieve goals that are important to you.
I provide a calm, safe, person-centered approach which allows space for you to openly express your thoughts and feelings while also assisting you in identifying thoughts, behaviors, and belief systems that need to be adjusted.
I am interested in working with clients who are self-motivated for treatment, willing to challenge themselves, while also being open to the support that is offered. Whether small or large goals, it is important that the client is involved in their treatment, with the understanding on my part that there may be ups and downs, where some days are easier than others.
By utilizing a Person-centered approach, my clients lead the way throughout their therapy while also empowering them throughout the process.
I will utilize CBT in order to identify negative thought processes as well as unhealthy belief systems. We will then work to challenge those thoughts and behaviors.
I am very solution focused in my approach, so we will work to identify what has not been helpful and what changes can be made to assist in overall success.
