So, my guess is that you are here because you are looking to make a change possibly. The same problem continues to surface without an end in sight. Maybe you thought about making this change before, but then a few days went by then life went on. Even though life went on that change you needed to make never happened so now we are back here again. At this very moment when you are contemplating a change it is very important that you make a commitment to yourself that you will not continue to do the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Hello and Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of Pennsylvania. For the past 15 years, I have been working with adolescents and adults that have struggled with domestic abuse and have symptoms of trauma such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-worth, mistrust, and hopelessness, by helping them find their purpose and their "WHY". I help those who find it difficult to work through toxic or unhealthy relationships rather it be professionally or personally. I work with clients that experience emotional pain through their past trauma and help them break free from their pain where they regain their spark and power. Working with me, I will help you transform your emotional trauma into your strength. I have successfully helped clients write their stories, which are now books, about their past trauma and they have shared their stories with others so they too could encourage others to share their story and get the help they need, as there is power in sharing with others who are in similar situations. Again, it's about transforming emotional pain into power and strength. My focus is to help you heal, energize, and become aware of your inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. As a mental health therapist, I'm here to empower you to see yourself as a being with a powerful life story. As we embark on your therapeutic journey together, I will always let you take the lead, after all, you are the expert on your own story. I won't always have the answers, but I will make a safe space for you to find them for yourself.

I am happy to work with clients on developing more contentment and serenity and less anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, or shame. You might be having a difficult time accepting yourself, accepting the shortcomings of others or accepting life’s struggles. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to dispute our irrational beliefs and create new alternative beliefs that are helpful to us. I am also happy to work with couples to build their friendship with their partner by developing conflict management skills and turning towards our partner with bids for connection without using harsh criticism and defensiveness. You may be a couple deciding to live together, be newly married, wanting to proactively strengthen your marriage before taking on the great responsibility of raising children, or married for years who are experiencing conflicts and arguments. We use the Gottman Method of Couple’s Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Couples to work on empathy and listening skills to turn towards our partner instead of turning away or turning against them. I work with individuals who speak Spanish and would like to work with a therapist who is conveniently located or willing to work with clients virtually on their individual needs. I work with older adolescents also either virtually or in person.

I have been a therapist for over 8 years but worked in the mental health field for about 15 years. Although I come from a medical background, I believe that a holistic approach to mental health is the most useful. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families to explore their feelings and process external and internal issues to come to a place of acceptance and self-compassion. My areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma. All of us have things in our lives that didn’t cause the trauma but trigger it, I can help you overcome these triggers. I am passionate about educating people about “small t trauma” and “big T trauma,” because so often individuals don’t even recognize traumatic experiences as significant because “they could have had it worse.” "Little t traumas" are experiences that leave someone feeling hopeless. They are distressing events that can be beyond a person’s ability to cope, although they do not necessarily cause life-threatening or bodily-threatening outcomes. Some examples of "little t traumas" can include; infidelity, divorce, legal trouble, grief, interpersonal conflict, bullying, financial difficulty, chronic stress, living in an unsafe environment, or feeling unloved, worthless or unimportant. "Big T traumas" are the types of traumas that are deeply disturbing, life-threatening events or situations. some examples of these are being the witness to or victim of; violent crimes, abuse, war, natural disasters, serious car accidents, or death. Working through trauma is hard, it is often life-long, but it is worth it. I can help you live your best life, regardless of your trauma history. I am honored to work with all types of individuals. I strive to live an examined life and to continue to learn and better myself, to best impact the world around me. I know from my personal and professional experiences with trauma that people must have good habits firmly in place or bad habits will take over. I aim to educate and empower my clients within a safe, inclusive and nonjudgmental environment. You can see more about me and my approach on my website: JamieFlowersLCSW.com.

Have you been feeling overwhelmed lately? Have you been feeling depressed and isolated? Are you struggling with worry and fears? Are you finally ready to take that step and talk with someone? I understand how meeting with a therapist for the first time can feel scary and overwhelming. I work very hard to provide a safe space where clients can feel free to openly talk about what they are struggling with. I have been working with clients for 22 years to help them identify their goals and figure out what they need to move forward and experience a happier, more fulfilling life. My name is Kim Ring and I have had the opportunity to work in many different settings in the mental health field, such as outpatient, inpatient, drug and alcohol rehabs, and home-based work. Because of my vast experience I have worked with many types of clients where I have gained invaluable experience. I have worked with clients struggling with mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, life adjustment issues, grief and loss and parenting issues. I have had clients tell me they like my approach because I am genuine and direct. I believe that in order to help clients we need to put a mirror to them and be honest about what might be holding them back. Sometimes people just need support and someone to help them navigate a difficult time. I look forward to meeting you.
