I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

Hi, I'm Joe Ropelewski, LCSW, and I have been successfully providing therapy to individuals, couples and families for 25 years. Since graduating with my Masters of Social Work (MSSA) degree from Case Western Reserve in 1999, I have gained knowledge and skill in helping people make changes that work best for their lives. I also have a great deal of lived experience, having raised 4 children, survived cancer, suffered depression and anxiety, and also lived with chronic pain...YOU are the expert on yourself, though, and I will respect your power to make your best choices.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I take pride in my ability to quickly build rapport with my clients. I work to guide my clients to get to the core of what is causing their distress. I will provide a "safe space" where my clients feel free to be themselves free of judgment. I graduated in 2008 with a Doctor of Psychology with a concentration in School Psychology and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Post Doctoral work includes obtaining my Diplomate through the American Board of School Neuropsychology, ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider, Board Certified Cognitive Specialist, and Advanced Certified Autism Specialist. I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient hospitalization, psychosocial rehabilitation, group therapy, individual therapy, mobile therapy, and a school psychologist. I have extensive experience with ADHD, school based neuropsychological evaluation, executive functioning weaknesses, anxiety, depression, and LBGTQ+ issues. I also have experience working with teenagers who experience various school stressors, learning weaknesses, and relationship issues.

Hello! I have always enjoyed helping others for as long as I can remember as early as age 9. I love to see their responses in the learning process. I have experienced trauma, witnessed violence, anxiety, have been in an unhealthy alcoholic relationship and have been a sensitive being my entire life not understanding why.
My saving Grace has always been movement. I loved the way it made me feel-free and calm, and movement has always been part of my life even during 4 pregnancies and keeping up with my 4 children, and now my grandchildren. Over time, I was introduced to mindfulness, stress reduction and relaxation (which I didn’t realized how much I needed) and Yoga. This allowed me to calm my mind and focus.
My career goal was Physical Education teaching and when I graduated (after have 4 children), teacher jobs were scarce. I was introduced to Behavioral Health and here I am now, 25 years later.
