I like for clients to get to know me as well as I getting to no them. I use a person centered approach in getting to know my clients story and their issues and concerns. This will assist me with working with the client in tailoring a treatment plan specifically geared to reaching their goals.
My varied experience equips me to be a more well-rounded and effective clincian. By understanding the bigger picture and how internal struggles manifest differently, I can provide more comprehensive and individualized support to my clients.
I work well with individuals with seriours mental illness, bipolar and anxiety and depression. One of the things I love to see is my clients starting to dream again about. I love to motivate my clients to dare to step out of their comfort zone and walk towards their dreams and goals.
By combining cognitive restructuring with behavioral techniques, CBT can empower people to take a more positive approach to life's challenges.
By working collaboratively with the therapist to identify solutions and create goals, clients in SFBT can develop a roadmap for overcoming their concerns.
As a therapist, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients effectively deal with the impact of trauma and distressing life events. EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories. When trauma occurs, memories can get "stuck" in the nervous system, causing painful symptoms like anxiety, flashbacks, and negative beliefs about yourself. Through the use of bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping), EMDR helps unlock these memories, allowing your brain to naturally process them and move toward resolution. The goal isn't to erase the past, but to ensure that when you recall a distressing event, it no longer carries the intense emotional charge and debilitating symptoms, allowing you to move forward with a greater sense of peace and self-worth.
