Hello! I am Susan Andersen, MSW, LISW and welcome to my profile. I have been a social worker for 26+ years and enjoy working with people of all ages to help find techniques, interventions and solutions to grow emotionally and tackle barriers and navigate through the tough parts of life. I 100% believe that this is a team approach to treatment and the work done in the therapeutic environment is directed by the individual.
Hi! I'm Andrea. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC). I am licensed in Ohio to treat both mental health and substance use disorders. I have been working with substance use disorders for over nine years and mental health for seven years. My passion is helping others identify their ideal life and the necessary steps to get there.
I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and asks how that makes you feel. That’s not what most men need, especially when it feels like it’s falling apart.
I work with men who are overwhelmed, burned out, or angry and don’t know why. Men who feel stuck in their heads, disconnected from the people they love, or like they’re always one step away from snapping. Some are facing divorce. Others are trying to be better dads, partners, or sons, but they often feel like they’re failing. Many were pushed into therapy by someone who cares about them. Almost all of them stay once they realize it helps.
My approach is practical, honest, and built for the real world. I use tools from CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, plus a good dose of common sense to help you understand what’s going on and actually do something about it. No psychobabble. No lectures. Just straight talk and strategies that work.
If you're tired of feeling angry, lost, or numb, it's going to be okay. You're not broken, and you're not alone. This isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about finding your footing and getting back to who you were before life got so heavy.

I have over 14 years of experience walking alongside clients during their therapeutic journeys. I’m a compassionate and client-centered therapist dedicated to supporting individuals and couples, as they navigate life’s challenges. My approach integrates evidence-based practices, therapeutic techniques, and faith-informed perspective when desired, to promote emotional regulation, clarity, and growth. Hello, I am an experienced individual therapist licensed in Ohio. I have experience helping clients with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, abuse, motivation, self esteem, & confidence. I also have experience working with veterans with depression and PTSD. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. Eight- year military veteran.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you may be wondering what our work together would actually look like. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative space where you can better understand yourself, build practical skills, and work toward a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a primary approach. DBT is a skills-based, evidence-informed therapy that can help with managing intense emotions, navigating relationships, tolerating difficult situations, and responding to yourself and others with greater awareness and effectiveness.
Depending on your goals, we may focus on any or all of the following:
• Managing strong or overwhelming emotions
• Building healthier relationships and boundaries
• Increasing mindfulness and self-awareness
• Tolerating distress without making situations worse
• Strengthening self-compassion
• Building a life aligned with your values
Therapy works best when we approach it as a team. I’ll bring clinical knowledge, structure, support, and honest feedback; you bring your experiences, goals, questions, and willingness to practice new approaches. You can expect me to encourage and challenge you, when appropriate, and help you make sense of what you are experiencing. There may be times when therapy feels rough, particularly when we are looking at patterns you have used for a long time. We'll work through those moments together rather than expecting you to navigate them alone.
You will also have opportunities to practice skills between sessions. The goal isn't just talking about what is happening in your life—it's to help you develop tools you can use in your life.
The hope is over time, you leave therapy with a greater understanding of yourself, confidence in your ability to handle difficulties, and a sense that you can build a life worth living.

Do you feel like you're running at full capacity with no room left to breathe? On the surface, you have it all together: the high-performing professional, the dependable parent, the supportive partner. Underneath, it's different. Anxiety that won't quiet. Depression creeping in. Burnout from roles that never let you clock out. Often it's all of them at once, tangled together until they blur.
I bring an engineer's mindset to therapy. My background in Mechanical Engineering shaped how I see problems, not as isolated issues but as complex systems needing recalibration. Most high-achievers I work with are tired of surface-level talk therapy; they want results. Together, we analyze what's actually breaking down, whether it's depression, anxiety, career burnout, or family dynamics. We build a concrete evidence-based plan using tools such as DBT and EMDR to process trauma and tackle performance issues. For over a decade, I've guided clients through major life transitions, for example career pivots, new parenthood, and loss, toward lives rooted in purpose and sustainable well-being.

Studies have shown evidenced based therapy such as CBT and CPT are proven to help decrease symptoms in disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, stress management, insomnia, and many more. Together, we will identify what wasn’t working for you, assess your commitment to therapy, and develop obtainable goals that will help you be your best self. I will give you tools that you can continue to use for a lifetime. And hopefully you will no longer need therapy but can rely on what you learned through therapy to help you, should you encounter a bump along this thing called "life".
You can book a session with me by contacting Grow Therapy. I am available in the evenings and on some weekends. I look forward to working with you!
