My name is Kerri Schofield. I am a passionate and curious person and I love what I get to do each day. I have primarily worked with adolescents and young adults, but have discovered a passion for working with trauma and grief for individuals of all ages. I continue to learn and grow in the types of therapy skills I utilize. I've learned so much from every individual I've ever worked with, and am honored to be able to join with others in their discovery and healing journeys.
Our initial sessions will include introductions, completing an intake, and identifying goals for our work together.
I'm a curious, passionate, and hopeful individual and I bring that to therapy sessions as we work together. I am also flexible and patient and recognize that I am initially a stranger. I will work to develop confidence that you know I'm there for your best interests and am dedicated to helping you improve your daily life.
I am excited to work with individuals who are willing to put in the effort to address issues, beliefs, and experiences that are impacting their ability to improve and enjoy their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Understanding the relationships between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors help to recognize the impacts that we make when we change one of the three components. We will examine and challenge the thoughts and behaviors that have led to unwanted feelings and difficult relationships and identify and practice changes.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy is a Cognitive Behavioral based therapy which aims primarily to address symptoms of PTSD. Challenging unhelpful beliefs related to trauma and changing the ways these are connected to distressing symptoms may help to support development of more balanced thoughts and improve daily functioning and relationships.
Grief Therapy
Experiencing the death of a loved one, a significant relationship, and other types of losses often leave us in a state of grieving. Together we will work to process thoughts and feelings, express emotions, and adjust to life changes after loss. Our focus will be on facilitating healthy mourning, reducing distress, and fostering meaning-making and adaptation.
Psychoanalytic
We will explore thoughts, feelings, and past experiences and identify patterns that help to explain current behaviors and emotional responses. Developing insight and interpretation will help to promote self-awareness and foster long-term change.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Together we will identify and learn how to accept difficult thoughts and feelings, clarify personal values, and commit to behavior changes that align with those values. Engaging in values-based goal setting may serve to increase psychological flexibility and improve functioning and reduce stress.
