Minds are designed for thinking and it is human nature to make connections with others. I am dedicated to helping a client slow down to contemplate, explore, and become self-aware of their own needs, personal well-being, interests, strengths and how to relate to others. I will help clients create spaces and opportunities to practice emotional regulation, explore difficult situations, provide therapy for previous history of trauma and loss, and begin or continue a healing journey.
On the outside, it may look like you're managing everything. On the inside, you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or surrounded by people but still feel completely alone. If you're reading this and thinking, "This sounds like me," you're exactly who I hoped to reach.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. While those experiences may bring you to therapy, I believe our struggles don't happen in isolation. They often develop within the context of our relationships, experiences, and the roles we've learned to play. Together, we'll become curious about those patterns, question the expectations you've learned to carry, and decide which roles still fit the life you're trying to build and which you've outgrown.
Therapy can be a place to set some of that weight down and reconnect with yourself. It can be life changing to give yourself permission not to fit neatly into predefined boxes.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you should feel comfortable being yourself without judgement. My goal is to create a safe supportive space where you feel heard, understood and respected. We will collaborate on your treatment and at the pace that feels comfortable for you. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, stress, a major life change, or simply feeling stuck in life. We will work at your pace to reach your mental health goals. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds including being an LGBTQ+ ally and affirming.
Having benefited from therapy myself, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most powerful tool for healing. My long-term clients appreciate my warm yet direct approach, and I often incorporate humor into our sessions because I believe that "laughter is medicine." I combine evidence based modalities, therapeutic connection, and empathy to be able to connect with my clients to assist them with being able to grow into their greatest potential.

Hi! I'm an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in North Carolina. I earned my Master of Social Work from the Ohio State University, and I have been practicing clinical social work for 4 years. I have wide range of experience including working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, and life transitions and adjustment. I am passionate about helping clients learn effective coping skills to decrease their symptoms and get back to the life they enjoy!
I have been an LCMHC for 14 years. I treat adults, with depression, Bipolar, Women's issues, and adults who are trauma survivors. I am licensed in the state of North Carolina, therefore I can only see clients who reside in North Carolina.
I want to assist clients who have developed coping skills (for whatever reason) that are not currently serving them to develop more productive ones; Additionally, to strengthen your relationships, your boundaries, and increase your personal effectiveness.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship and family stress, parenting, and major life transitions. I bring a warm, down-to-earth approach to therapy and want you to feel comfortable being fully yourself, without having to filter or have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I focus on helping you to achieve balance in Mind, Body, and Spirit. Are you struggling with feeling sad, down, and/or anxious? Have you suffered trauma and/or abuse? Do you feel ashamed and/or guilty? Do you struggle with liking/loving yourself? Do you feel unworthy? Do you compare yourself to others and view yourself as less than and/or behind? Are you finding it difficult to keep up with all the responsibilities and challenges of life? If so, I want you to know that you are not alone, I understand, and I am here for you to create a safe space wherein you can express yourself and be truly seen and heard.
I specialize in toxic shame, Type 2 Diabetes, and autoimmune-related health conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome & Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and Psoriasis.
I wholeheartedly believe in you and your capacity to work through your struggles and create a life of joy and passion.
These times are urgent. Let us slow down.” ― Bayo Akomolafe
Let's take things one breath at a time, slowing down instead of rushing through the hard parts. I don’t believe in fixing or solving everything all at once in the hopes it does not reoccur. Instead, I offer space for curiosity, vulnerability, and connection, because that’s often where healing begins. Together we’ll practice being with your experiences, not just getting past them.
I work with people facing all kinds of mental health and personal life challenges, and I especially love helping clients untangle old patterns and build new ones that feel more like them. My approach is relational and HUMOROUS, humanistic, honest, warm, and collaborative. I work mostly with teens and adults. Outside of therapy, I’m usually testing a new hairstyle, thrifting, listening to Afrobeats, or walking my dachshund, Winston-Bishop.
I most often support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. I understand that addiction is often a response to deep emotional pain, frequently connected to unresolved trauma, and I approach this work with genuine compassion and respect for the complexity of each person’s story. As a therapist, I’m friendly, dependable, compassionate, and easy to connect with, and I’m deeply invested in creating a space where you can feel supported and at ease. My focus is on helping you reconnect with a sense of internal safety, build meaningful self awareness, and develop a more caring and grounded relationship with yourself. I aim to create an environment that feels steady, encouraging, and even a little bit light when it’s helpful, one where healing, resilience, and alignment can grow. Ultimately, my goal is to help you strengthen your capacity to live with authenticity, clarity, and emotional freedom.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and in case you’re unsure of what that is, it means I have earned a Bachelor Degree in Social Work a Master of Social Work and once I completed Graduate school I was then required to complete 3,000 hours of clinical work experience under supervision for another two years after those supervised clinical hours I had to successfully sit for ASWB Clinial Level exam. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker not only means that I am passionate about Mental Health, but I am also focused on your environment, meaning I look at external factors that impact your situation. When I started Graduate School, I went in with the notion of studying Psychology until I came across the Social Work Program, after doing some extensive research into the profession, I decided that is what I wanted to do. I absolutely LOVE being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and helping individuals reach goals they’ve set for themselves.

You may have experienced therapy before and know what it is like to have a space to talk. My work offers something a little different.
I work with women who are often the ones others depend on the mothers, caregivers, professionals, helpers, and women who have learned how to keep things moving even when they are carrying a lot themselves.
You do not have to be in crisis to want therapy. You may be grieving, navigating a major life transition, feeling overwhelmed or anxious, questioning what no longer fits, or simply wanting a space where nothing is being asked of you.
As a Black woman and therapist, I am especially intentional about creating space for Black women and other women of color to speak freely without having to translate or minimize their experiences.
You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. We can begin with where you are.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over five years of experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth challenges, and relationship or attachment concerns. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful patterns, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to build psychological flexibility, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients understand and heal the parts of themselves carrying pain or protection. I incorporate Psychodynamic Therapy to explore how past experiences shape present behavior, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to strengthen motivation and support meaningful, sustainable change. My cultural identity is central to my work. As a young African American woman, I have a deep understanding of generational trauma, systemic barriers, and the resilience that exists within the Black community. These experiences guide me to practice with cultural humility, empathy, and authenticity. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen, validated, and empowered to explore their inner world safely. Ultimately, I am here to walk alongside you, helping you gain insight, build practical tools, and move toward healing, growth, and the life you envision for yourself.
I bring both clinical experience and personal understanding to the therapy room. I’ve navigated my own mental health struggles and I am a survivor of suicide loss. These experiences deepen my commitment to meeting clients with empathy, authenticity, and respect. I have worked with men and women of all ages. I have worked with veterans and active duty members as well. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to support you.
Lizzie Gutierrez has worked in various careers that have helped mold her into the therapist she is today. She served in the Army, worked for several years as a Licensed Practical nurse in Pediatric clinic, OB/GYN clinic and in Labor and delivery. These experiences has taught Lizzie the true definition of empathy and patience. When Lizzie is working she loves to be on the move. Lizzie loves to run as it helps to clear her mind but also provides time with friends. Lizzie is the mother of 3 boys, has been married for almost 26 years and also has fur babies.
On days Lizzie does not want to do anything, she loves to curl up on the couch in the early hours with a book and a good cup of coffee with her fur babies. She also loves to travel with her family when she is able.
Life has a way of nudging us to grow, pause, and ask deeper questions—especially when things feel hard or uncertain. No matter your age or stage, those moments are part of being human. My approach to counseling is eclectic and collaborative, grounded in creating a space where you can show up as you are and feel genuinely supported. Together, we’ll sort through what’s going on, build tools to help you cope, and find ways to move forward that feel meaningful and realistic for you.
I work with people navigating burnout, midlife transitions, imposter syndrome, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I bring both clinical insight and a real, human presence to the work (and yes, sometimes that includes a little well-placed profanity). I’m especially passionate about understanding how our early family experiences shape the way we live, love, and work. I truly believe that when the right space is created, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself in powerful, lasting ways.
