About
Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in North Carolina. I received my Bachelor's from Clark Atlanta University and my Master's from Montreat College. My counseling career started in 2018 as a Middle School Professional counselor. In 2021, I transitioned to Private Practice, where I work variety of ages of clients.
Having worked with parents in public health and mental health, I have learned the importance of family when it comes to an individual's emotional bank.
I work full-time as a school counselor for an elementary school. Currently, I see clients virtually through my private practice, Brown Eye Therapist and Consulting, PLLC.
First session
In our first session we will start with a brief introduction, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. This will allow me to create a plan for us to work as we move through our sessions.
Strengths
Having worked in public health for 15 years, I understand how our environment influences our lives. For the past 9 years, I have approached each of my clients with compassion, kindness, and love. I am grateful for the opportunity to work in a middle school, where I can observe how the environment also plays a role in shaping the emotional background of individuals. Having worked with parents in public health and mental health, I have learned the importance of family when it comes to an individual's emotional bank.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve clients who are comfortable with virtual sessions. I am best suited for clients who are honest, willing to do the work of looking within, and mostly those who want the best for themselves. I would love for my client to love themselves, to be patient with themsevles and love themselves. As you see the value in yourself, this makes it easy for you to choose you.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help my clients recognize irrational thinking that may be impacting their mood. I work with my clients to help them recognize the irrational thoughts and replaced them with rational thinking.
Eclectic
Eclectic therapy allows me to use varies couseling forms, theoretical approaches or different techniques to assist my clients needs.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFT) is a short-term goal-focused form of counseling that encourages clients to generate a description of their life once the issues is solved.
