My name is Ashley and I have been a therapist for 11 years now. I enjoy traveling and spending time with my pets. Therapy has a lot to do with the bond between the therapist and the client. Change really can happen if the relationship is there. Most treatment methods can be fairly applicable if you develop that relationship. If you have found that to be a struggle in the past you may of had a bad connection with your therapist.
A first session is more about getting to know you and get familiar with your struggles.
The biggest strength in a provider would be the ability to be humble and learn from their clients.
CBT can be helpful to teach cognitive reframing and unlearn bad habit that contributes to negative thoughts.
Follow along in session with workbook activities and learn DBT skills.
