New to Grow
Laurie is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and discover new ways to heal, grow, and thrive. She works with clients facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, and relationship challenges. With over 20 years of experience working with the autism spectrum disorder community, Laurie brings both expertise and compassion to her work. She understands that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and that healing is rarely a straight path. Life ebbs and flows, and therapy is much the same—at times you may feel momentum, while at other times roadblocks may arise. Laurie meets clients where they are with patience, creativity, and encouragement, helping them move forward at their own pace. Laurie creates a warm, safe, and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring emotions, challenges, and goals. She values building strong therapeutic relationships as the foundation for growth and healing. Her approach is integrative and tailored to each individual, drawing from person-centered therapy, mindfulness practices, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and skills for emotion regulation and coping. Laurie works with children, teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families. She believes that everyone has the capacity for healing, growth, and lasting change, and she is dedicated to helping clients find tools that support their unique journeys. In addition, Laurie is a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator, providing specialized support for couples at all stages of their relationships.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and building a sense of safety and trust. I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you’d like to address, while I gather background information to better understand your story. Together, we’ll discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and outline a plan for moving forward at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a warm, compassionate space where clients feel safe and understood. I’m skilled at tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs, drawing from a variety of approaches to find what works best for them. I’m also deeply committed to helping clients build resilience and discover their own strengths as they work toward healing and growth.
I’m best set up to serve teens, young adults, adults, and couples who are navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or challenges related to neurodivergent thinking. I work well with individuals who are ready to explore their thoughts and emotions in a supportive space and who are seeking practical tools for growth and healing. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be contributing to their distress. Together, we explore healthier ways of thinking and develop practical coping skills to manage challenges more effectively. This collaborative, goal-focused approach empowers clients to create lasting positive changes in their daily lives.
I take an eclectic approach by drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapies—such as CBT, person-centered, and mindfulness-based techniques—to meet each client’s unique needs. This flexible style allows me to tailor sessions to the individual, focusing on what works best for their goals, strengths, and life experiences.
I use a person-centered approach by creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and accepted. I believe each person has the capacity for growth and healing, so I work collaboratively to support their self-discovery, personal strengths, and inner resilience.
I use a mindfulness-based approach to help clients develop awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations in the present moment. Through guided practices like breathing, grounding, and gentle reflection, clients learn to respond to stress with greater calm, balance, and self-compassion.
