I am Dr. Kawakami and I have been in the mental health and addiction field for over 20 years. I am a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, an author, an empowering media personality, and a proud veteran of the United States Army.
You may have seen me as "The Mind Doctor®" on hit TV shows such as Bravo’s Married To Medicine, VH1’s Love and Hip Hop, WEtv's Bold & Bougie, WEtv’s Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta working with rapper, producer, actor, and superstar Bow Wow, and WEtv’s Brat Loves Judy with rapper, producer, actress, and Funkdafied super star, DaBrat!
While I have been viewed by millions of people on television, my humble beginnings actually started on television as a six-month-old baby being placed for adoption and featured on the “Thursday’s Child of The Week” segment.
After being adopted in Los Angeles, California, I grew up in a multi-cultural family from East Side San Jose, California. Prior to earning my Ph.D. in Psychology via an academic institution, I had already earned my Ph.D. in "Hustling" via the streets of the Bay Area in the dope game. I acknowledge a divine intervention and acknowledge, “Only God could have me go from selling dope and destroying lives to offering hope and restoring lives. Look at Gawwwwd!”
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, or issues related to self-esteem and self-worth, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.
With over 15 years of experience in mental health, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds—including active-duty military members, veterans, women, adolescents, teens, and young adults—across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
I believe that everyone possesses the strength to overcome life’s obstacles. My goal is to provide a warm, safe, and supportive therapeutic environment where you feel empowered to create meaningful change and move toward a more fulfilling life.
Ready to move from "understanding" your pain to actually healing from it?
You might have a lot of insight into your past, but you’re still stuck in the same loops. Whether it’s the racing thoughts of anxiety or the heavy weight of a "not enough" narrative, I am here to help you feel like yourself again.
I specialize in working with women, students, and children (ages 14-18) who are ready to stop just talking about their problems and start resolving them. I help clients navigate life transitions, relationship wounds, and the fallout of trauma—from childhood abuse and divorce to the gaslighting of past partners.
My approach is gentle but firm. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with knowledge of different systems, I don’t just offer a listening ear; I offer a roadmap. Together, we will connect the dots between your "person-in-environment" and your internal triggers to silence the intrusive thoughts and stop unhealthy patterns for good.
When not working, I am typically spending time with my family and our dogs. I love reading and going to the beach. I enjoy travelling and visiting our nation's National Parks.

Healing begins when you feel seen, safe, and free to show up exactly as you are. My work is rooted in creating that kind of space, one where your story is honored, your emotions are welcome, and your growth unfolds without judgment. I blend mindfulness, somatic awareness, and acceptance-based practices with an intuitive, heart-centered approach that helps you reconnect to your own strength, spirit, and wisdom.
I hold every session with empathy and compassion, but also with realness. I believe in truth-telling that heals, the kind that may not always be easy to hear but always comes from love and respect for who you are becoming. Together, we explore not only why patterns exist but how to shift them in the body and in daily life. Our work invites peace back into your nervous system and power back into your choices.
I walk beside those who are ready to stop surviving and begin living in alignment with their wholeness. You do not need to be fixed. You need to be met, witnessed, and reminded of the power that has always been yours. In this space, healing is sacred, personal, and deeply human.
We all need support in dealing with life's challenges, but sometimes just asking for help can feel as overwhelming as the problems for which we are seeking support. I provide a holistic approach to therapy by incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with other therapeutic modalities, including Brainspotting (which is a tool to access neurobiological trauma experiences that are stored deep within the subcortical brain). Building and practicing coping skills is a vital part of therapy with me. Whether you are looking to learn new ways of dealing with behavioral, emotional, or relationship patterns, I offer my clients a compassionate, supportive, yet challenging environment in which to achieve their full potential. I am committed to providing a safe therapeutic environment for you to learn to use healthy coping strategies to manage the challenges of daily life.
Hi, I’m Jaylin. I’m a licensed professional counselor, a mother, a woman of faith, and a human being who has had her own share of late-night questions, heavy seasons, and quiet breakthroughs.
I became a therapist long before I had the title. Life taught me how to hold space, how to listen beneath the surface, and how to walk with people through fear, grief, transition, and the deep ache of wanting more out of life and relationships. I know what it’s like to carry responsibility, to feel stretched thin, to question your purpose, to love deeply, and to rebuild yourself after seasons that shook everything.
My approach is calm, real, and non-judgmental. I don’t believe in forcing you into a mold or talking over your experience. I believe in helping you reconnect with the wisdom, strength, and clarity that’s already inside you—because I’ve had to find my own, too. Healing isn’t about pretending things are fine; it’s about having a safe place to lay it all down and grow at your own pace.
If you’re looking for a therapist who understands both the emotional and spiritual layers of this journey—and who can meet you with empathy, honesty, and a little bit of hard-earned insight—I’d love to walk with you.
You don’t have to figure everything out alone. You’re allowed to be held while you find your way.
Hi, I'm so glad you're here! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Valdosta State University. I was born and raised in Nebraska but have made Georgia my home, and I truly love it here.
I became a therapist because I genuinely care about people and believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, meaningful support. I know that reaching out for help is not always easy, and I want you to know that taking that step says a lot about your strength and your commitment to yourself. My goal is to make sure that from the moment you connect with me, you feel welcome, heard, and comfortable.
I am an animal lover through and through, and that love has found a natural home in my clinical practice. I incorporate pet therapy into my work with clients, and I have seen firsthand the incredible impact that a furry friend can have on even the most difficult days. Whether it helps break the ice, ease anxiety, or simply bring a moment of joy into a hard season, it is one of my favorite tools to offer.
Outside of my passion for animals, I am deeply committed to doing work that matters. I show up for my clients with honesty, warmth, and a whole lot of heart. I believe in meeting people where they are, walking alongside them through the hard stuff, and celebrating the wins along the way — big and small.
If you are looking for a therapist who will be real with you, root for you, and work hard alongside you, I would love to connect. I can't wait to meet you.

My approach is built on the RCB Framework™: Rooted, Culture-First, and Brave. I believe therapy should be a Brave Space where you don’t have to code-switch to be heard. I am currently licensed to see clients in Georgia and 22+ states via PSYPACT, offering high-energy, modern care that honors exactly who you are. Let’s build your brave.
I’m a licensed therapist focused on helping women work through anxiety, overthinking, and people-pleasing. I take a direct but supportive approach, creating a space where you can be fully yourself while we explore the deeper patterns behind what’s keeping you stuck. I’m Dr. Amanda Nicholson, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training in sex therapy. I hold a Master’s in Family Therapy and a Doctorate in Human Sexuality Studies, and for over seven years I’ve supported individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relationship stress, intimacy concerns, trauma, and life transitions.
I work particularly with Black women of faith who are reclaiming their sexual self-esteem and learning to integrate spirituality, identity, and intimacy with confidence and compassion. I also support high-achieving women who feel overwhelmed beneath the surface and are seeking deeper alignment in their relationships and personal growth.
My approach is warm, relational, and collaborative, integrating trauma-informed, narrative, and systems-based perspectives with space for conversations about faith when meaningful to you. Therapy with me is a space for honest reflection and sustainable change.
I offer both individual and couples therapy. Please note that couples therapy is offered as a private pay service and is not covered by insurance.
Greetings, and welcome to the beginning of a new chapter in your life! I am an enthusiastic and motivated therapist dedicated to meeting individuals where they are, while guiding them through their personal journey of growth and healing. My professional experience aligns with empowering clients who experience a sense of loss, anxiety, depression, physical, mental and emotional exhaustion, unexplained fear, and hopelessness. With a deep passion for both my client's progress and my own professional development, I create a collaborative, supportive space where lasting change is possible. I believe our greatest gifts often live at the intersection of growth and giving, and I look forward to walking alongside individuals as they rediscover their strengths, gain clarity, and create meaningful change.
Today represents a meaningful step toward rediscovering and renewing yourself — a moment where empowerment and positive growth come together on your journey to well-being.
As a therapist, I bring warmth, compassion, reliability, and genuine care to every session. My approach is solution-focused and grounded in empathy, creating a safe and supportive space for you to explore, heal, and grow. I have worked extensively with individuals navigating mood disorders, grief, trauma, and those seeking to release the weight of the past and embrace healthier patterns.
My clinical expertise includes supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, complex family dynamics, and body image or weight-related challenges. I use a systemic perspective, addressing concerns at both the individual and relational levels to help clients achieve lasting, meaningful change.
As a therapist who is both direct and compassionate, I view my clients as equal partners in the healing process. I provide a nurturing and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel seen, supported, and empowered. While I emphasize personal accountability and growth, I also serve as a trusted guide—offering insight, encouragement, and a safe foundation from which to explore new ways of being and relating to the world.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. For more than twenty years, I’ve worked with adults, teens, and families facing trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. My main orientation is Internal Family Systems (IFS), which I use to help people understand and heal the protective and wounded parts of themselves. I also integrate attachment-based and emotionally focused approaches to strengthen how clients relate to themselves and to the people who matter most.
I come to this work as both a professional and a person who’s lived through many of the challenges my clients face. I’m a parent who knows the daily strain of trying to be present for your family when you’re already running on empty. I’m a trauma survivor who understands what it’s like to rebuild trust in yourself after being hurt. I’ve dealt with painful medical conditions that have tested my patience, resilience, and faith in the system. I’m a husband in an interracial marriage, which continually deepens my understanding of identity, perspective, and what it means to hold space for difference with love and respect. And I’ve been both a therapist and a client, so I know how vulnerable it can feel to sit in that chair and hope the person across from you really gets it.
Because of those experiences, very little shocks me and nothing makes me see you as “less than.” I don’t view trauma, pain, or mistakes as signs of weakness — they’re evidence of survival. My job is to meet you there with honesty, compassion, and respect, and help you find your way forward at a pace that’s right for you.
I am licensed in Georgia with 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, & trauma and abuse. I also have experience working with depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
Are you a person who has lived through or is living through hard things? Is the use of alcohol or drugs getting in your way or in the way of someone you love? Do you despair about life at times? I am a caring person who listens really well and has more than 30 years' experience using research-proven skills to help you move freely and lightly into the future you want. A MilitaryOneSource provider, I have a special heart for military personnel, first responders and their famiiles.
I am not your typical therapist as I started my career in finance and have an undergrad in Business. While I could succeed in this path, I did not find meaning in it. I see becoming a therapist as a calling and not a vocation. I first worked in acute mental health as an advocate, then as an addiction counselor, and eventually after receiving my MSW as a dual diagnosis therapist. I have much empathy for the hurting and have always been drawn to those who have suffered from mental illness, addiction, and the effects of trauma. As such, I have been a mental health advocate, addiction therapist, mental health therapist, trauma therapist, psychiatric director, and behavioral health COO. I feel like I have seen all levels of behavioral health care and use that wealth of experience, resources, and specialized training to help others. I believe that compassion and empathy are keys to change and try my very best to meet you where you are. I also value diversity and have worked with a wide range of the problems that individuals and couples struggle with. Most of all, I am not a respecter of persons and have worked with the homeless to the CEOs of major corporations. I feel that we are all just humans and that we all struggle with similar challenges and problems. I have also worked with a great diversity of people from very diverse cultures and many international clients.
Hi, I’m Shannon, and I’m here to help women feel more like themselves again! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over seven years of experience working with young adults. I specialize in anxiety and OCD, using the gold standard approach for treatment, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). My approach is all about getting to the root of what’s keeping you stuck so you can experience lasting relief, not just short-term fixes. We work together to identify how anxiety deeply affects your relationships, daily life, and the thought patterns that shape your mood and behavior.
As a certified Mental Health & Nutrition Clinical Specialist, I take a whole-person approach—looking at how your daily habits, stress levels, and physical health all impact your emotional well-being.
Hi my name is Tujuana Shaw-Jallah I am a licensed professional therapist my clients call me "TJ"
Do you need a safe place to discuss your issues, a place that does not judge you or make you feel as if you are the only "individual" who is struggling to make it through the day? Well you have come to the right place. I believe in empowering my patients to be their very best no matter what circumstances they find themselve in each day.
Low Self-Esteem, guilt, and depression are internal culprits that often suppress an individual externally. My Specialty is with teens and adult women who have been traumatized as a result of sexual abuse or violence. I believe that healing starts with removing the “band-aid” taking off the mask and breaking free from the past and moving forward .
Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Get ready to break FREE!
Chanelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor that truly enjoys assisting clients along their journey to emotional wellness! Chanelle believes in being genuine, authentic and compassionate. Her style is to have unconditional positive regard for her clients and to use humor and empathy to relate on a human level. Chanelle graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University in Psychology and then pursued a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University.
You've made an important decision to start therapy. I'm glad you're here. It has been said therapy with me is like talking to your "auntie". I will help you see yourself but in such a nurturing way you receive it, and it allows you to do your work.
My gifting is in assessment and working with adults and couples. I have always worked in some form of mental health assessment in my career. Most recently I spent 5 years in Grady’s Psychiatric ER. Allowing me to quickly assess needs and develop a life plan with the client.
Couple work is also a skilled area for me. Especially when communication has broken down evidenced by constant arguing. Therapy can break couples out of the destructive tit-for-tat cycle. Broken trust, infidelity and unforgiveness are also areas I specialize in.
Women’s concerns and issues are important to me. I’ve done extensive work in healing their “father wound”. Tapping the spiritual relationship for healing. Topics include relationships, self development and growth. Another very successful service is my therapeutic walkthrough of popular books. Titles have included RC Blakes’ Queenology and Sophia Nelson’s The Woman Code. Currently, I am authoring The Majestic Woman Mindset, which comes from a woman’s empowerment curriculum I developed.
TALK|THERAPY LIVE, is a podcast on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmxgzmGXbnqKKizcNu32WuA
of educational videos and live broadcasts addressing behavioral health and relationships. Sometimes with special guests. I have been a helper/healer my entire career and looking forward to this season working with those I can help the most.
So whether it’s life just happening, grief, a relationship starting or ending, relationship issues and specifically if there are struggles with depression, anxiety, or a disorder, REACH OUT…Success in life is about making good decisions. Starting therapy is always a great decision!!

My journey to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor was shaped by a deep desire to support others through life’s challenges—especially during times when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or alone. Like many people, I’ve experienced how difficult it can be to navigate personal struggles without the right support system, and I’ve always been drawn to helping others find clarity, purpose, and hope during those moments. Over time, I realized that being a counselor would allow me to not only listen and empathize, but to walk alongside people as they identify their goals and uncover their inner strengths. What drives me every day is the opportunity to be part of someone’s growth—to offer a space where they feel truly heard and supported, and to help them discover that change is possible, even when it feels out of reach.
