I'm Clay and I am offering in-person therapy in Saint Marys, Georgia, and virtual therapy for those who feel exhausted from struggling with anxiety, overthinking, and challenging relationships. My counseling style combines the best of advanced psychological principles and a Christian worldview. Pulling from both worlds, I offer evidence-based interventions which are centered in biblical values. Clinically proven care with a compassionate, individualized and active approach that focuses on integrating your therapeutic relationship with the practice of transpersonal mindfulness-based skills to help you achieve lasting emotional and mental well-being. My style is responsive, spiritual, and supportive. I adapt quickly and use our relationship built upon trust to leverage real change by examining blind spots in your operating system. However, if your faith journey does not align with Christianity or you do not subscribe to any faith, I am still able to create a safe space for you to do therapy that honors wherever you are at at this point in your life. What you are doing right now matters and if you feel lost or ready to give up: give me a call. I provide Specialization in a variety of unique men’s issues like compulsive behaviors, addictions, overall numbness, lack of purpose, difficulties with boundaries, couples and family issues, niche sexuality concerns, veteran’s issues, and anger management.

First session

In the first session we'll get to know each other, and I will develop a profile/diagnosis of the problem. We'll review various constructs you operate under, and collect details, along with reviewing boundaries for the container of our work together. Clients usually come away with a huge sign of relief feeling they've finally connected with someone who can help and they understand next steps.

Strengths

My areas of specialty are teaching and facilitating my clients to learn mindfulness based techniques, and the integration of prayer/ meditation into sessions. I adapt each session to the clients specific needs using relational somatic psychotherapy, and christian principles we will unravel the onion of your current problems to decipher the root causes. Most therapist rely on stock skills and standardized methods like CBT or EMDR and they stick to the surface trying to apply coping skills to symptoms. This represents the weak and watered down therapy where they will affirm whatever you want so you "feel better." Instead what I do involves specific relational interventions designed to help you delve deeper into the core of you, and then from there we work outward reconsolidating old patterns and realigning and recalibrating and remembering and reorienting. This is what it means to Renew Your Mind.

Ideal clients

You sort of believe in God — but you have your doubts and your mental health issues still feel heavy. Your mind won’t slow down, you overthink every decision, and you feel responsible for everyone else. You’ve tried other counselors or coaches, prayed, tried to stay positive, and told yourself to trust God more — yet the anxiety keeps showing up. You feel weak, broken, or failing spiritually. Every mental health issue has a cause, and Christian counseling can help you identify the root issues so you can get relief and see real, lasting change. I help clients work through anxiety, relationship stress, and trauma so they can experience peace and feel empowered to live out their purpose in alignment with their faith. If you find yourself: Feeling like a fraud Feeling numb and disconnected Overthinking your decisions or fearing you’ll “get it wrong” Feeling emotionally responsible for everyone else Struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, or constant mental noise Single and losing hope that you’ll ever find a spouse Feeling overwhelmed in parenting, marriage, or blended family life Wanting a therapist who shares your faith and values
