Jahiara Robinson
Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, develop healthier patterns, and create meaningful change. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, understood, supported, and empowered to show up as your authentic self. My clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I incorporate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while recognizing that each person’s experiences and needs are unique.
I am an active listener who values understanding the person beyond their presenting concerns.
I believe healing is not a linear process, and you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. Whether you’re working through past experiences, feeling overwhelmed by the present, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, I’m here to help you navigate that journey. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment where you can feel safe exploring your experiences, recognizing your strengths, and building the tools necessary to move forward with confidence. You deserve a space where your story matters.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, discuss your current challenges, and identify what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, background, and goals, but there is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. I’ll also explain what you can expect from therapy and answer any questions you may have. My priority is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you feel heard, supported, and understood. By the end of our first session, my hope is that you’ll feel more comfortable, have a clearer sense of our direction, and feel encouraged about taking this step toward your personal growth and healing.
Strengths
I bring empathy, authenticity, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach to my sessions. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with individuals while creating an environment where they feel comfortable being vulnerable and showing up as their authentic selves. I am an active listener who values understanding the person beyond their presenting concerns. I also bring strong clinical insight, cultural humility, and the ability to help clients recognize patterns, explore different perspectives, and identify practical tools for growth. I balance compassion with gentle accountability, encouraging clients to challenge themselves while honoring their individual pace and healing process. Most importantly, I want my clients to feel that therapy is a collaborative space where their voice, experiences, and goals matter.

Origin story
I was inspired to become a therapist because I have always been drawn to understanding people, their experiences, and the stories that shape who they are. I recognize how much our past experiences, relationships, and life circumstances can influence the way we see ourselves and navigate the world. I wanted to be someone who could provide a safe, judgment-free space where people feel genuinely heard, supported, and understood. I also believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and redefine their story, regardless of what they have experienced. Becoming a therapist allows me to combine my passion for helping others with my belief that meaningful change is possible when people feel seen, empowered, and supported.
Ongoing work together
Ongoing therapy will be a collaborative process centered around your individual needs, goals, and progress. Together, we’ll explore patterns, experiences, and challenges that may be impacting your emotional well-being while developing practical tools to help you navigate everyday life. Sessions may include processing emotions, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, building coping strategies, strengthening boundaries, improving relationships, and developing a healthier relationship with yourself. I incorporate evidence-based interventions while remaining flexible to what works best for you. Some sessions may involve deeper reflection, while others may focus on skill-building, problem-solving, or celebrating progress. Therapy is not about perfection or having everything figured out; it’s about creating space for growth, practicing new ways of thinking and responding, and making meaningful changes at a pace that feels manageable. My goal is to help you build skills that extend beyond our sessions and empower you to navigate life with greater confidence and self-awareness.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we work to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and build practical coping strategies that support meaningful, lasting change.
