In the past, I have worked in an agency setting where I work with adults who are diagnosed with Substance Abuse disorders. Through their journey, I have been able to develop an expertise in co-occurring disorders, including but not limited to depression and anxiety. I am now ready to expand my career to include children who may need assistance with mental health disorders, or maybe just feel like they have trouble fitting in. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I understand the struggles of everyday life - from trying to narrow down and specify just one goal to living through a pandemic while also managing anxiety and stress.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
This first session is for building rapport and setting goals. This is where I can brag on how many cats I have.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
Interventions I typically use the most include DBT, CBT, solution-focused, and at times, play therapy, as well as a variety of styles that might be needed during our sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My biggest areas of expertise are assisting individuals with processing and identifying their feelings. I do not like to tell you how you "should" feel, or even to talk you out of the feelings you are having. Instead, I would rather assist you in processing, identifying, and learning to cope with the feelings you are having.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with all clients with many different concerns. I have found success in working with men, women, children, and adolescents.
