Mr. Darling is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving the Atlanta metropolitan area. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Marketing from Marshall University, a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and an Education Specialist degree from Valdosta State University, and he has over 20 years of experience as a counselor. Mr. Darling believes starting therapy can be daunting, especially if you don’t feel ready. Therapy is a collaborative process that guides clients to increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives, decrease symptoms, and increase personal strength for a more meaningful life experience. Mr. Darling uses an eclectic therapeutic approach primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He truly believes that therapy is for everyone, but not every therapist is for every client: therefore, he encourages open communication regarding the process of therapy so clients can best overcome their obstacles.
When evaluating a client's needs, I usually begin with an interview to learn more about their personality and character. I also identify their goals and the specific areas they require help.
His therapeutic approach is eclectic. He meets the client where they are and assists them in achieving the goals established by the client and therapist. However, the therapeutic approach that he uses most often is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) paired with Positive Psychology Interventions. He believe that most issues can be addressed and resolved by implementing CBT.
He works with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, providing services that span from addiction and recovery, Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Men’s Issues, Relationship Issues, Self-esteem, Stress Management, Trauma and PTSD, and beyond. He offers a highly personalized approach tailored to each of his client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
