Hi, I’m a Licensed Counselor (LPC) based in Georgia. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and I have been practicing for 5 years. I help clients to understand that “It is Okay not to be Okay.” I believe in meeting my clients where they are and providing them with the coping skills they need.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session with my clients, I let them know that there in a no judgement zone and they are free to express how they feel in anyway that they feel comfortable.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe my greatest strength as a provider is being able to meet my clients where they are and to make them feel comfortable by establishing a trusting rapport.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with individuals, couples, veterans and families to get to the root of the issue. I allow my clients to set the goals for their sessions so they feel that they are apart.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT because it allows my clients to talk about how they are feeling and it helps me to provide coping skills that matches their needs.
Couples Counseling
When counseling couples I always remind them that I am the neutral person in the room and that a relationship takes two people to make it work. I also remind them that communication is key in any relationship.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I utilize emotion focused therapy for my clients who are dealing with the loss of a loved one, or someone who is dealing with conflict or hurt feelings and teach them how to address the person if given the opportunity.

I am really pleased with the range that Shawnlese has. I think sometimes it can feel like one has to choose either a intelligent therapist or someone who is warm and helps you connect with your feelings. I feel like I can say, a couple sessions in now, that Shawnlese has both.
