With nearly 20 years of experience, I help individuals and couples navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity, and life transitions. I have a special interest in supporting LGBTQ+ clients and creating an affirming space where you can show up authentically. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for change, we’ll work together to better understand what’s holding you back, strengthen your relationships, and help you move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

First session

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brought you to therapy. We'll talk about the concerns you're currently experiencing, what you would like to be different, and what you hope to gain from our work together. From there, we'll begin developing therapy goals that are meaningful and realistic for you. Most importantly, the first session is an opportunity for you to feel heard, ask questions, and determine whether you feel comfortable with me as your therapist.

Strengths

I bring over 20 years of experience, wisdom, humor, and a warm but direct approach to our sessions. I believe therapy can be a space where you feel supported and understood while also being challenged to grow. I will meet you where you are, sit with you through the difficult moments, and walk alongside you as you work toward meaningful change. You can expect honesty, compassion, and even a little laughter along the way.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply tired of carrying everything on their own. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, or trying to make sense of experiences from your past. You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy—you just need to be willing to show up and begin the process. I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-reflection, willing to be challenged when needed, and ready to work toward meaningful change. We'll figure out the next steps together.

Treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT techniques to help clients better understand and manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthier ways of responding to stressful situations. Together, we may practice skills such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication. My goal is to help you develop practical tools that you can use outside of therapy when life feels overwhelming.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and understand how their thoughts can influence their emotions and behaviors. Together, we will explore whether certain thoughts are helping or holding you back, challenge negative thinking patterns, and develop healthier ways of responding to difficult situations. My goal is to help you gain greater awareness of your thinking and develop practical strategies that can lead to meaningful changes in how you feel and respond.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients learn how to make room for difficult thoughts and emotions without allowing them to control their choices. Together, we will explore what matters most to you, identify your personal values, and work toward making choices that align with the life you want to create. The goal is not to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling, but to help you move forward in meaningful ways even when those feelings are present.
