Hi, I am Ivanda Postell, LPC(Licensed Professional Counselor), CPCS(Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor. I received my Master's Degree at Fort Valley State University. I have over 25 years experience. I assist clients who want to become the better version of themselves as they discover their talents and strengths while gaining self-worth through therapy in a safe space and place. I also invite clients to discuss what has worked in previous therapeutic interventions and why this should be utilized going forward.
During the first session the client should expect to begin to build a client therapy rapport by providing some social background information while be advised of informed consent policies, confidentiality policies and HIPPA policies. Also, the decision to continue therapy and set appropriate scheduling for future sessions. The clients will also be allowed to ask questions and learn what the therapeutic journey looks like.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my years of experience that include providing mental health services to a special population to include teenage incarcerated females, adult incarcerated males, females, transgender, etc... incarcerated Substance Use females. I also have the experience of introducing and developing a mental health program to a facility who was not familiar with the population.
I enjoy working with clients of any age who are ready to make efforts to gain positive insight of challenging issues to name a few but not limited to(teenagers, college students, older adults, couples who are challenged with depression, anxiety, codependency, self-esteem, setting limits, developing boundary and trauma) issues.
