Hi I am Barnetta, I am experience working with clients with behavioral health issues. I work with clients that suffers from a range of behavioral health issues including depression, couple conflicts, family issues, grief issues, domestic violence, as well as stress and anxiety issues. My therapy style is open and warm to allow the client and I to build rapport with each other. My belief is that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. My approach to therapy consists of cognitive- behavioral and focus solution therapy and will adapt treatment to fit your needs. Knowing that you may have a problem and asking for help takes courage and is the first step towards a better understanding of you. When you make up your mind to take this step, I will be here to guide and support you.
In your first session with me, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and discussing what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask a few questions about your background, current challenges, and the goals you’d like to work toward. This initial session is a safe, supportive space where you can share at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin identifying the best path forward for your healing, growth, and overall well-being.
In therapy I use CBT as well as solution focus to assist client with solving issues that have brought them to therapy. I also incorporate journaling, homework and different intervention related to what is going on with them to assist them in being able to see their progress.
My biggest strength lies in in assisting clients to see what the issues are as well as assisting them to see that there are solutions to their issues. I work with clients so that they feel like they are getting to the bottom of their issues. I help clients to own their issues, so they are willing and ready to put in the work.
