I work with clients who have dual diagnoses, for example, a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder, or more than one mental illness, for example, bipolar disorder and PTSD. Many of the clients I work with do not meet criteria for PTSD, but have post-traumatic stress that is causing other conditions.

I have experience helping clients with depression, stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, trauma, and an array of other issues. They usually say this approach feels less clinical and intimidating, and as a result, end up making progress faster than they initially thought they would. I view therapy as a process in which the client and therapist work together to determine goals and define success, as well as determine a process for maintaining success. Our work will be geared toward achieving a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. I approach therapy from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, meaning thoughts and beliefs that are interfering with functioning need to be addressed and appropriately changed and/or reorganized for better mental health. I have a Ph.D. in general psychology and a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have been licensed in the state of Florida since 1999 as a licensed mental health counselor . In addition, I provide supervision to mental health counselor interns for whom are seeking their license in the state of Florida.
