Hello Families- With 23 years of experience working with children and adolescents, I have encountered a wide range of situations, each with their unique challenges and strengths. I empathize, listen attentively, and offer guidance tailored to individual needs. I support children as they work towards greater mental well-being. We will work together as a team to build coping strategies and set treatment goals. My education and training includes a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I have worked as a school counselor in a school district for 23 years gaining expertise in a wide range of children's emotional and mental health needs. I am passionate about helping children build confidence and resiliency through individual therapy on the evenings and weekends.
I quickly build rapport with children of all ages and create a warm and welcoming environment for them. I value parent's feedback and teamwork as we all work together as team members to assist your child. I engage children with humor and fun while also emphasizing the importance of new skills and requiring cognitive homework to be completed in between sessions.
My greatest strength as a counselor is to build trusting relationships, provide compassionate support, and empower children to overcome challenges and achieve their goals in therapy.
I am passionate about helping children navigate through life's difficulties and manage big emotions. Validating and regulating emotions are important steps in a child's mental health journey, while allowing them to be seen and heard in world that is often confusing and unfamiliar to children. I look forward to helping your child and family gain perspective and understanding to balance life.
