Hey there! I'm Helen Garcia, an LCSW and the owner of Sincere Practice.
As a first-generation Filipina American, my background really informs how I approach our sessions. I love creating a safe, non-judgmental spot, especially for creative people. Maybe you're stuck in a creative rut, recovering from narcissistic abuse or grief, wrestling with faith-based questions, or just need support around Asian American mental health—I'm here to truly see and get you. When I'm not in therapy sessions, I host the Sincere Practice Podcast, where we chat about mental wellness and the ups and downs of the creative journey!
I come from a compassionate, affirming, and strengths-based approach with five years of experience. I specialize in addiction, anxiety, life transitions, and mood disorders. I utilize a blend of modalities to assist in managing symptoms and life stressors. You deserve a space where you can show up with authenticity, exactly as you are - and feel supported in doing so.
As a **licensed marriage and family therapist** with 15 years of experience, I've had the opportunity to work with diverse clients, from individuals as young as three to adults of all ages, as well as couples and families.
I began my career in substance abuse counseling and DUI classes. Over the years, I’ve specialized in **talk therapy, play therapy, and art therapy**, with a focus on helping clients resolve **unresolved trauma**. I'm also trained in **Parent-Child Interaction Therapy** and can provide these services via telehealth.
Most recently, I spent six years as the **Behavioral Health Program Director** for a foster agency in California. This role was incredibly rewarding and allowed me to work with children in foster care, their biological and foster parents, and adoptive families. Although I loved my work as a director, I truly missed the hands-on experience of working directly with individuals and families in a therapeutic setting, which is why I am back in private practice.
Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from California, currently living in Florida. I received my undergraduate degree from William Jessup University, with a Master's Degree from Chapman University. I love people and I love to see relationships thrive. Research shows us that the quality of life that we have is more dependent on the quality of relationships than any other factor. I want you to have the most fulfilling and satisfying life as possible.
I specialize in trauma, depression and anxiety. I have worked in many therapeutic settings, with individuals experiencing moderate to severe symptoms of trauma, PTSD, depression and anxiety. I enjoy working with individuals that are motivated to engage in deep self-reflection, seeking understanding of past experiences and their impact on current struggles and committed to healing and growth, showing a readiness to work through difficult emotions and patterns in order to create lasting change.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my Masters from New York University and have been practicing for 13 years. I have also have 7 years of experience as a educator and supervisor for pre-licensed therapists. I love helping my supervisees and clients overcome their challenges, learn great lessons in the process, and achieve their highest potentials.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed or find yourself stuck in the same relationship patterns?
Life can throw us emotional and mental challenges that leave us feeling lost, disconnected, or unsure of what to do next. My goal is to help you make sense of what’s happening, understand yourself more deeply, and find healthier ways to move through difficult moments.
Since 2002, I’ve worked with men and women who are tired of always putting others first. Together, we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck and build clarity, confidence, and direction—so you can create relationships (and a life) that feel more authentic and fulfilling.
I am a Bay Area native woman who identifies as a Christian, mother, social worker, and African-American. Growing up, I had a rough childhood in which I stayed with multiple family members and was exposed to the “fast” life and dysfunctional relationships, as well as the “9 to 5 working”, church centered, married life. While both made me into the woman I am, it was really my grandparents taking me in as a teen and showing me unconditional love, that made me able to not become another statistic, and understand what love is. My healing journey was not easy, but it was necessary! It is the people who poured into me and believed in me when I didn’t love or believe in myself that help me transform from broken and angry to the confident woman who loves herself and steps out on faith and gives back to those who have past or current circumstances that are holding them back from being there best version of them. I am not here to judge or tell anyone how to live. I am here to help people release their traumas, hurts, and other obstacles so they can restore to a healthy level of functioning mentally, spiritually, and physically. I focus on the person as a whole as our health mentally, spiritually, and physically, has a direct impact on on well being, and an imbalance in any one can hinder our level of functioning.

Hello there! I am first a mom, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, and a neighbor and friend. In my life, I have naturally been inclined to help others. Realizing this, I decided to embark on a journey to become a professional helper of other humans, to help improve their life and feel better about their choices. Along this journey, I have become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I obtained my MA from Pacific Oaks College in 2013 and my Psy. D. Marital and Family Therapy from The Chicago School in 2021. I then started working in counseling and after completing my continued education for counseling studies with an emphasis on alcohol/drugs abuse studies at UCLA in 2020. I support and promote clients to explore their potential and utilize strengths to manage challenges in life. As your therapist, I strive to be authentic and nurturing and come from this understanding, as my true self, and as a South-American therapist. My years of experience and navigating through life while learning the art of therapy and counseling helped me to develop a strong patient-centered approach to join patients where they are at. Feedback I have heard from clients is that my experience working with different cultural backgrounds helps clients feel safe and they report that I have a more inclusive therapeutic relationship with them than other therapists.
