Do you struggle with people-pleasing, anxiety, depression, internalized and/or externalized anger, or managing emotions in general in a healthy manner? Did you experience childhood trauma and feel like you grew up too fast? Were you labeled "different," "the "caretaker," "black sheep," or "troublemaker"? I teach people how to prioritize and honor all parts of themselves, not just the "desirable" ones. We will work through parts people generally dismiss and ignore such as anger, resentment, shame, and disgust, and learn how to embrace them gracefully. I'll teach you the skills to feel more at peace. As your therapist, I will be challenging and direct, yet empathetic and compassionate. I will challenge you through introspective questioning that will lead you to your own answers. I help you take what you've learned and apply it to your own life by giving you things to think about and work on between sessions, along with resources and handouts to remember. I hope you'll witness yourself feeling more empowered, confident, and more at peace with yourself as my other clients have. You will notice your relationships evolve and change, which can be scary! Rest assured, you will be provided with skills to gracefully go through them. Everything you seek is already inside you. All I’m doing is helping you remember.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will be going over policies, consents, and expectations. We will go over the reasons you decided to reach out for therapy and your goals. Together, we will develop a plan with your goals and how you will know you have met these goals. Sometimes, people want to jump right into the issue they're facing, and that's okay with me. I adjust to the client and their needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

People say that I ask very insightful questions. I help you figure out your own answers, become curious about yourself, and become an explorer finding creative solutions. I help empower people to do what's in their control. I often give things to think about and resources between sessions so that you can apply what you've found out and learned about yourself in real time.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Our attachments to others generally start with our attachment to our caregivers. I help explore dynamics in your life with firstly yourself, and then with others. We find what isn't working for you, and devise ways to unlearn and learn new ways of being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this method to help look at things that keep you stuck and give resources and tasks to help you get unstuck.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

There are lots of handouts from DBT that I enjoy using to help solidify topics of discussion and skills to use for mindfulness, distress, emotion regulation, and relationships with others.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I believe that to accept ourselves, we must be curious and open to all our emotions, not just the ones we want to see. With IFS, I help you work through relationships with the emotions you deem as negative.
