LMFT, 25 years of experience
I am a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience. I have a holistic approach, facilitated by my Graduate studies in Spiritual Psychology. Combined with the tride & true CBT approach, this therapy can offer the insight & the tools that can add both depth and practicality to one's experience of themselves & their lives. I aim to help others understand themselves, others and their lives in ways that highlight compassion, patience, empathy & more.
I will spend the majority of an initial session gathering general background information to help me gain insight, to help determine fit and is appropriate for Telehealth. I will provide you with initial impressions and discuss next steps moving forward, if you choose to do so. Also, please review the following Tech Tips for best results for video: Ensure that your WiFi/internet is strong and stable before starting your appointment. It’s best to use a laptop/desktop when starting the appointment, rather than a tablet or cell phone. Google Chrome is preferred browser (as opposed to Safari, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge). Ensure that your device and your browser are both updated to the most up-to-date version. When issues within a browser occur, clearing your cache and cookies is always a great place to start.
I listen with depth and compassion, I offer concise, easy to understand feedback that is in line with the most recent science & research.
I work most often with working professionals (adults) or students (young adults) that may or may not have had prior experience in therapy before. I provide individual (vs couples or family) sessions via Telehealth and am able to address a variety of issues from Mood-related to Relational & more.
I utilize CBT strategies to help clients explore & identify thought/behavior patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress. There's often good opportunities to make updates to thought/behavior patterns to feel better, more resilient and better able to cope with stress or difficulties.
As children we form attachment styles with primary caregivers that often inform our relational styles as adults; maladaptive styles can often contribute to difficulties in relationships & can benefit from exploration in a therapeutic setting.
How we see ourselves can often inform how we see others & visa versa. Negative/Limiting beliefs can often be redirected with the support of a therapist.
