Hi! My name is Ayesha and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my Masters from California State University, Sacramento and have been practicing for 6 years. I am a Christian, trauma-focused, strength-based, and humanistic approach therapist. I commonly use person-centered, CBT, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy to support my clients. I value providing a safe non-judgmental and private space for individuals. My goal is to provide warmth and acceptance during sessions and beyond. My journey as a therapist began in my childhood. I was raised by a single mother and experienced poverty throughout my childhood. God has been my strength and anchor. I grew up in diverse settings which has given me the ability to have empathy and hold a safe space for all people, especially marginal communities. Most of my extracurricular activities throughout my life have involved meeting the needs of people. I aspire to be a safe space and sounding board for others and believe giving back is what makes life meaningful.
During the first session, my goal is to get to know you and identify the key areas you would like to address in therapy. I will also hold a safe space for you to get to know me so you can build comfort.
I was raised by a single mother and experienced living in poverty throughout my life. God has been my strength and anchor and my faith is what has kept me encouraged. I grew up in diverse settings and this has given me an empathetic genuine love for people. Especially marginal communities. Most of my extracurricular activities throughout my life involved meeting the needs of people. I eventually graduated from college with my Master's in Social Work and began a career doing what I naturally loved. I want to be the person I needed during some of the toughest times in my life.
My client focus consists of people of color and adults who have experienced trauma. I am most comfortable treating mood disorders, grief, complex family dynamics, adjustment to illness, life transitions, relationship conflict, and self-esteem.
