Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Alternative Healing Arts Practitioner who specializes in helping individuals heal their relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves, while also supporting healing from childhood wounds, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm. Many of the challenges we face—whether with food, anxiety, relationships, or self-esteem—are rooted in unresolved emotional wounds, attachment dynamics, and nervous system dysregulation. My work focuses on helping you access and heal these deeper layers so that lasting change becomes possible. I offer an integrative approach that blends traditional psychotherapy with somatic and energy-based modalities. In our work together, we may use processes such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), parts work, and nervous system regulation practices to support inner child healing, emotional processing, and the repair of attachment patterns. These approaches help access deeper layers of the mind and body where long-standing patterns are often stored. In addition to traditional therapy, I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for individuals seeking deeper work with long-standing emotional patterns or treatment-resistant struggles. These sessions are offered on a self-pay basis and include thorough preparation and integration support. I bring nearly two decades of experience in the field of eating disorder treatment, particularly with bulimia and binge eating disorder. My background includes directing a behavioral health program at a premier wellness center, leading an intensive treatment program for binge eating disorder at the University of California San Diego’s Center for Healthy Eating and Activity Research, and conducting research on eating behavior at Yale University’s Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity. In addition to my professional training, my work is informed by my own recovery from bulimia, allowing me to meet clients with genuine understanding, compassion, and hope for what healing can look like.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, my priority is getting to know you and building trusting, safe rapport together. We'll begin with introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing and what your goals are in working together. I'll also inquire about your life history to help me understand your life arc and all that has shaped you. Then, together we'll create a tailored plan and road map for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist include: • Emotionally attuned and intuitive • Trauma-informed / attachment-informed • Highly skilled and experienced • Effective for real change I offer... • A deeply integrative approach to healing. Over the past two decades, I have developed an extensive toolkit of therapeutic modalities that I weave together intuitively based on each client’s needs. My work blends traditional psychotherapy with somatic and energy-based practices to support deeper emotional healing, expanded self-awareness, and sustainable behavior change. • Helping clients identify and shift the deeper patterns driving their struggles. Rather than focusing only on surface behaviors, I help clients explore the underlying emotional wounds, attachment patterns, beliefs, and nervous system conditioning that often drive issues with food, relationships, anxiety, and self-worth. Together we work to release old patterns and build new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to yourself. • Strong attunement and intuitive presence. Clients often tell me they feel deeply seen and understood in our work together. I bring a high level of emotional attunement and presence to sessions, which helps create a space where deeper insights and healing can naturally emerge. • Supporting inner child and parts healing. I have a particular strength in helping clients connect with and heal younger parts of themselves that may still carry pain, shame, or unmet emotional needs. Through this work, many clients begin to experience greater self-compassion, emotional freedom, and a stronger sense of inner stability. • Compassionate accountability and encouragement. Healing often requires both compassion and challenge. I help clients notice unhelpful patterns in their thinking and behavior while also holding a compassionate and hopeful perspective about their capacity to grow and change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with individuals who are committed to their healing, expansion and growth and are on a spiritual or conscious path. You understand that in order to best serve your purpose- whether as a parent, entrepreneur or healer- that you must take care of yourself and address the internal blocks that keep you stuck in suffering and out of alignment with your highest self and authentic way of being. You are a great fit as a client if you: • Are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. • Often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious and desire support managing these so you can feel better in how you respond to life. • Get caught in unhelpful thinking loops, poor body image, unhealthy eating patterns, emotional pain or other problematic coping behaviors. • Intuitively know that you need to take better care of yourself and understand that you are carrying emotional baggage from the past and your childhood. • Are highly motivated to do deep inner work and healing, and desire a skilled guide who can help you access your shadows and subconscious, bringing light to the innermost parts needing healing. • Find that you turn to food to self sooth or cope with unpleasant emotions • Are open to alternative modalities, such as energy work, and have interest in psychedelic, spiritual or energetic aspects of healing. • Are highly self-aware and have a lot of knowledge about your problems, but need help actually processing the stored emotions and energies in the body.
Attachment-based
I'm trained to facilitate attachment repair using somatics, inner child healing and emotional freedom technique. I help you uncover your unmet childhood needs that have shaped your attachment style and thus influence your behaviors/patterns in your adult relationships. We uncover the specific protective patterns you've developed to protect you from rejection, abandonment and pain. I then guide you to process any stuck emotions/wounds from childhood and create repair and corrective experiences where you get to experience having your needs met. This creates healthy, secure attachment imprints in your nervous system and subconscious that over time shape your overall attachment style and way of connecting with others. The goal is to be able to learn how to reparent your inner child and self-regulate so that you can engage in relationships as a mature, secure, confident, open hearted adult.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I am certified in Integrative Somatic Parts Work (Levels 1, 2 & 3) through the Embody Lab. With this system, I guide you from the mind into the body to connect with the wisdom that resides there. We use the somatic sensations of the body to connect to the various parts of yourself that have strong emotions or beliefs that are impacting you. We learn how to curiously and compassionately connect with your inner parts, including child and teen parts that have been frozen in time, and help them unburden the pain they've carried, meet their unmet needs, and liberate them back into your whole Self so you can live from your heart and authentic self.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I am a firm believer that building the mindfulness muscle is an essential part of anyone's healing and growth journey. You must cultivate an expanded state of awareness in order to become more mindful of your physical sensations, emotions, beliefs, triggers and patterns. And as you become mindful of these energies arising in the present moment, you then are in a position of power to choose how to respond rather than stay stuck in unconscious reactions. In every session I will guide you through a mindfulness practice, such as a guided meditation or body scan, in order to support you in cultivating more expanded states of self awareness. In my opinion, this is one of the most important practices to incorporate into your daily life and inner work process.
Integrative
Beyond the psychotherapy modalities listed above, I take an integrative approach that addresses what I call the 5 bodies of health- the physical, mental, emotional, energetic and soul body. I do not view you as broken nor like to amplify focus on just the presenting symptom or problem. Rather, I view the whole of your being from the physical self all the way to the soul/spiritual self. I integrate my training as an energy healer into sessions as well, supporting you in understanding the energetics of your being and how to move energy blocks so you can liberate stuck emotions and amplify the embodiment of your soul energy and living in alignment to your soul purpose and heart guidance.

Sarah is incredible. Meets me where I am. Never judges me, but does challenge my thinking. She provides useful tools in every session to help work through whatever I am going through in that moment. Can't recommend her highly enough!
