Hi there, I’m Raquel, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. So many of us are taught to push through hard feelings and keep going, even when we’re running on empty. I’m here to offer you a gentle place to pause, take a breath, and just be human.
In our sessions, we’ll thoughtfully unpack what’s creating stress or emotional fatigue, untangling old habits and replacing them with practical ways to care for yourself. Welcome, I commend you for taking this courageous step of seeking support! I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California (LMFT 102540) for over 10 years. My specialties include treating PTSD/trauma, mood disorders, attachment and relationship issues, addictive processes, Jungian/psychodynamic therapy, and psychedelic integration for individuals seeking out states of expanded consciousness. I am deeply passionate about helping clients access their Inner Healing Wisdom.
I believe that an individual’s encounter with their personal unconscious is essential for the healing process. Our unconscious is a sacred cave where we store our insecurities, fantasies, painful memories, deepest fears, and feelings of guilt and shame. It's also a place where we hid away aspects of our authentic selves that could not "fit" into our environment growing up. I believe that true healing happens when we feel safe enough to explore this hidden cave and integrate it’s contents into our authentic Self. My goal is co-create this foundation of safety and trust with you so we can explore the cave together with courage, compassion, and curiosity.

Perhaps you are unsatisfied with your life and don't know how to change it. Perhaps you know what the underlying issue is but are afraid to tackle it. Maybe you struggle with co-parenting after a divorce or your teenager is self-harming and you want to help but don’t know how. Maybe you struggle with addiction or self-medicate to avoid dealing with emotional pain. I help clients to examine their core values and also identify any limiting beliefs they may have so that they can better align with their core values.
My experience as a therapist is wide-ranging: I have worked in adult rehab, child development, college counseling, women's trauma recovery, and individual online and in-person work with teens, adults, and seniors. I currently work exclusively with adults and seniors in an online setting.

My clinical and life experiences have helped teach me the value of community, and a strong and dynamic sense of self-worth.
I’m a couples therapist helping partners work through recurring conflict, communication breakdowns, and emotional disconnection. My focus is on how ADHD, anxiety, and attachment wounds show up in relationships.

I help couples slow these moments down, understand what happens between them, and learn to express their needs and respond to each other with more care.

DISCLAIMER: Please do not book me based off of ratings or reviews. Your experience with me will be personal and UNIQUE to YOUR needs, not someone else's needs or experience. Please book me if you perceive I am the right TOOL to use and help you reach your INDIVIDUAL goals. Book me if you are seeking an action-oriented therapist who provides HOMEWORK! Book me if you have insight about your situation, some history with therapy, are seeking solution-focused steps, and are not seeking someone to solely affirm you. I may or may not be the best therapist for newcomers (depends on you) as I ask a lot of questions, which can overwhelm you if you are not used to being questioned. Questioning is to understand you and get to the root of the problem, as well as the excuses used to perpetuate the problem. I am not interested in treating symptoms but rather getting to the core of the problem. If you don't want to do the work, I am just an expensive "Friend". So please be sure that you understand my style before booking me ;-). I am warm, DIRECT, solution-focused, AUTHENTIC, mildly confrontational, 100% Raw/Real and guaranteed to make you laugh as I have often heard from clients that I am funny :-) I won't lie to you or co-sign lies you tell yourself. I will gently reflect what you are not saying and what you are not showing so that you can explore for yourself. The only way out of pain is through. Not above, below, around but through.. The good news is you are not alone and don’t have to do it alone. Utilize the resources offered in this collaborative effort in creating the life (mind, body, & soul) you deserve.
