Hi! I'm Alexandria! Are you fighting with your inner critic? Are you identifying with your thoughts and allowing negative self-talk to take over? Is it hard to find your strength and overcome your fear of failure? I specialize in helping children, teens, and young adults find themselves, grow, and be the most confident version they can be. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions. I work alongside my clients, co-piloting as we look to understand and break down emotions and feelings. My goal is to help my clients understand that there is no "right" or "wrong" way to feel and there are no "good" or "bad" emotions; that emotions and feelings are simply information that we can use to better understand ourselves and what our brains are trying to tell us. Seeking therapy can feel intimidating, but with a safe space and laid-back environment, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow into your BEST self.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and I will answer any questions you may have. Then we will start with an intake, where I will be asking a lot of questions about your current problems, background information, and history questions. I know initial sessions can be scary and we don't quite know each other yet, so we will take it slow and go at your pace. Initial sessions may be shorter than our typical (53+ minute) sessions, if you are not quite ready to dive into everything all at once.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths include creating a safe, supportive, and laid-back environment to explore your thoughts and feelings. I am compassionate and empathetic, yet matter of fact. I am able to understand my clients based on personal and professional experience and do my best to meet my clients where they are.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a evidence-based therapy that can help individuals identify negative thought patterns and behaviours and learn new ways of thinking and behaving. I have extensive experience in using CBT to treat a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and psychosis.

Psychodynamic

A talk-based therapy that can help individuals explore and process their emotions and experiences. I use a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and I am committed to helping my clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of talk therapy (psychotherapy). It’s based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but it’s specially adapted for people who experience emotions very intensely. “Dialectical” means combining opposite ideas. DBT focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors.
